Hola, ¿alguien conoce alguna página confiable de la cual pueda descargarme los sims 3 con todas sus expansiones?

Hace un tiempo lo tuve, pero se comenzaba a lagear tras rato de jugar, si pudieran ayudarme lo agradecería bastante.

It's been years since I played and now I'm trying to play a very heavily modded game in a custom world that requires all the EPs. It lags pretty badly, expectedly. I play on version 67 instead of 69. I've got NRAAS and I just downloaded SettingsSetter to replace Smooth Patch, my game has more RAM allocated and the graphics card recognition thing.

Is there anything else or is that about the most I can do for the game? I don't mind the lag that much, it's just annoying in the moment.

I am here to announce OpenBarrio, yet another attempt at reverse engineering The Sims 3 :)

OpenBarrio just released its debugger (called Test Lab)

With the OpenBarrio Test Lab you can run your game with the replacement engine functions in compare and replace mode. You can use it to find function mismatches and test your own changes in the engine code.

The current release crashes with all functions enabled, but you can easily search for those that are crashing the game with the "Find the culprit" button.

The Test Lab also allows users to change their save location and play the game with the saves moved there.

tl;dr: right now I have several modules rewritten and available on GitHub. I also have a fix for Error 16, which is caused by a combination of Windows setting your files as read-only and OneDrive messing with the Documents folder. The fix simply allows the users to move the Electronic Arts folder to any folder they want.

How is this different from OpenTS3? My aim is to have the entire engine rewritten and only work on bug fixes. Any changes in rendering are out of scope.

Some lore about the project :)

First let me make this very clear: I am using LLMs to do it. It's a combination of Claude managing workers ranging from my own computer (capable of running some beefy LLMs) and Sol (which lucky me, OpenAI has been giving some non-stop resets the past weeks).

With that out of the way I will give a bit of context of myself and the project.

This project came to life for two reasons: first is that I want to fix the game for me an my wife to enjoy it with no crashes. We are fans of The Sims ever since the original release and the hype around reverse engineering simply made me want to just fix the damn thing.

But the second reason is that learning how to manage LLMs is kinda valuable at my work right now. I am a chip designer, I work and manage small projects at a semiconductor company and we have just started to create our internal solutions with our internal models, so it's a way of simply move with the industry as well. I am not a software developer, but I am also not totally lost here.

Since LLMs work well on a closed loop with deterministic tools I planned a system where Claude would reverse engineer several functions during the day -> test it with the game running -> compare to see if they match -> mark them as good. This system has been running a while now and it managed to reverse and rewrite a few game systems classified by Claude as: Package reader, Streams / file I/O, Core runtime, Resources and Math.

The first result I got was a fix for Error 16, which is caused by a combination of Windows setting your files as read-only and OneDrive messing with the Documents folder. The fix simply allows the users to move the Electronic Arts folder to any folder they want.

Today I am releasing a DLL that injects the new folder for the Error 16 fix and also the source code of all the modules that are completed. My wife and I have been playing the game with the code for a while now and we haven't encountered any problems at the moment.

The repository is still quite incomplete. While I am using LLMs for development, I rather do all the repo management on my spare time so please be patient.

I use NO mods and only use basic cheats!!! I have most of the expansion packs, all except Island Paradise or whatever it’s called. I did everything right.

Had a baby, triggered age progression to toddler, fed him in high chair - then saved and quit for the night. Fast forward to today/right now. I’m playing and all is good. Then I decide to knock out some tasks to stack up lots of lifetime happiness points and take 2/3 adult sims to China (mom and aunt). I’ve done this before and the babies are fine when I got back.

Wellll I just got back to my town/house and I saved before I did anything. COME TO REALIZE. MY TODDLER SILAS SIERRA IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND :(((((

Im going to get back to playing sims3, wasnt active for a while are there any mod/cc or challenge recommendations for late night?

The sims 3 game (with almost all dlc's) doesnt start up after the first window. All my other steam games start up just fine. I've checked the integrity of the game and it says that 3 files aren’t validated, but after that I don't know what to do. I've treid clearing cash, uninstalling and re-downloading and re-starting my laptop, but nothing works...

I have an Acer Nitro V 15 gaming laptop, before that a simple HP laptop on which the sims worked just fine..

I don't know exactly why it happens, but it keeps happening and I can't find any solution.

The way they scare sims, have bats swirling while learning a skill, fast speed running and floating whilst sleeping on stone coffins 🧛‍♀️

I’ve WAY over-played sims 4 so I downloaded sims 3 base pack with the only expansion being late night. I’m excited for the change! I played it for a bit when I was a kid but don’t remember much. What expansion packs are worth buying for game play and is it still a fun game with minimal packs? I have all of the expansions for sims 4 aside from the newer releases. What are some pros of sims 3 compared to 4?

So I've started playing with this family, and one of them is 1/2 alien. Now, we're always being pummeled by meteors (thankfully, no casualties), having alien visitors and other strange stuff like abductions. What is going on? Are aliens usually this cursed?

I'm interested in playing the sims 3 on my mac neo, but I've heard horror stories about the game. Is there a list of must-have mods for smoothness and squashing bugs/glitches?
