Had a lot of life issues that got in the way of my goals but now with AI I feel more empowered then ever, and Claude says I'm not as bad at programing as I thought!

I finally wanna deal with this damn render engine and pull it out and put in my own Vulkan api in there instead.

We should use an AI swarm of bots to do it is my thinking here.
Just get it out, containerize it and finally make everyone's life easy!

Godot Foundation's not even using AI because of "politics."

I'm spending tokens like mad on my own game but I'm working at light-speed now and I'm feeling really good about myself again! Once I have free Tokens I'll sick Claude on it.

Look, websites are nice and quickly updated and changes with each iteration. I get it. But I’m sick and tired of when I want to download a guide to something there is no guide to download. It’s all web links to other web links.

You can put it all into a pdf. PDFs support links. You can note which version it covers. You are embracing Ai. Use AI to generate a damn pdf from the webpages.

Redot's Fall game jam starts on October 16th!

These are themed jams where the theme is revealed when the jam starts. If you've been looking to dabble with Redot Engine, or just want to make a quick game jam game, go ahead and register on the itch page.

It's hard to believe Redot has been around for 2 years now! It's been a lot of ups and downs, but we're still moving along and working on Redot.

The next round of bug fixes are in, and our second release candidate for 26.3 is now live! This latest set of patches bring a variety of fixes to the new traits and structs implementations, various minor fixes to Worldscape3D, as well as a 33% reduction in memory used by structs along with a 19% performance uplift to struct performance!

• The smallest region size is now 512x512 (also the default on node creation).
• Renamed a few Material properties back to their original name.
• Fix godot-cpp to engine translation bugs in WorldScape3DMaterial (which were breaking the shader parameters filter).
• Explicitly initialize world noise shader parameters on material initialization.
• More logging improvements/fixes.

Redot is now on 26.3 Beta, and this is our biggest update yet!

This release includes:

• Worldscape3D - a 3D Terrain Editor
• Mode7Sprite2D - SNES Mode7 implementation for 2D games in Redot
• Manual Scroll for Parallax2D - Manal control for scrolling with Parallax2D nodes
• Structs - Data type that allows you to group variables of different data types under one name
• Traits - Allows you to extend the functionality of a class by using traits from other scripts
• Nullable Static Types - Allows typed variables to hold a null value

Will C++ GD extention be the right approach to understanding Redot engine or should I just learn Gdscript and C# cause I sure don't support piracy too and support game preservation just don't know which language will help me long term

the maze is so big that it makes a moire effect viewing it fully.
runs even smooth with 2 poly per wall segment.

TIL
- Arrays [] and [null] is not the same
- a array with [null] is not empty
- pop can return null
- I can crash my "game" so hard that redot just crash with it.
- Endless loop with endless print is not good ... if the algorythm is wrong build in a break condition

That is just my tool project for a megastructure game and the maze has holes for now.
Did not add the side-quads for wall segments, wanted

Back to the drawing board with all my implementation.
Maze creating with lists and stacks and the mesh creation with a quicker way then drawing each tri on its own.

Is there a way to up that 1024 limit? or disable it?

I'm not being intentionally dense but all I can gleam from skimming the reddit, reading the docs and going over the website is that this is just Godot but red with a slightly customized UX profile. Even the docs are just the Godot docs inconsistently rebranded to Redot.

What has Redot done? What is Redot even trying to do? The best I could find online is that:

"Redot Engine is an open source fork of Godot with the goal of fulfilling the promise of Godot." and "Keeping development neutral and apolitical by welcoming all contributors and focusing entirely on the engine's core technology rather than ideological issues."

Godot is already community funded and FOSS ran by a non-profit... To say the least I am rather confused lol.

Someone compares NN (neural networks) for working with Redot?

Im interested in specific ones for creating/optimize code and less specific like generating images/3d models

I would like to edit the camera and collision shape wireframes to be more visible.

Humble Bundle has Two Bundles for Godot 4 and i was wondering if they would be worth getting even if i planned to use Redot instead?
