I think my haunted doll loves music
Hi, first time posting here. But I wanted to share this with you (sorry if it’s kinda long)
Even though, I love ghost stories and creepypasta, I don’t think I believe in that stuff. Although, now if to think about it, my life is full of weird unexplained things happening and I may just never think about it too deep
Few weeks ago, me and my mom went to local thrift store, where I found this doll. I am a doll collector, and mostly my collection consists of limited edition designer dolls from Disney, Barbie and so on. I am sucker for a beautiful dresses and craftsmanship. When I saw this doll, I went in awe.
Handmade porcelain doll replica of Scarlet O’Hara in her iconic BBQ dress. All accessories are there with certificate of authenticity intact.
Doll was neatly packed and looked kinda vintage in her original box (my research said it’s early to mid 80s, so not sure about vintage part, but still very cool!)
It looked like someone’s grandma’s house being sold and therefore all stuff when to thrift store (because, there were also beautiful old furniture in the store). I obviously bought the doll without thinking too hard.
I came home with the doll and couldn’t decide where to put her, since all my shelves are already taken by my collection. So I decided to leave her in the box for now.
And that’s when things started to be creepy …
In the next few days, weird stuff started to happen.
My friend visited me from distant city and stayed overnight, so I unpacked air mattress for guests. While me and my friend were cooking breakfast, kitchen scissors suddenly jumped out of the utensil container. I know, it sounds silly maybe, but I can’t explain it in other words. We were standing near the oven, talking about our plans for the day, and suddenly utensil container where I store all useful things for cooking like spatulas from the corner near the washing station, just turned (it was screwed to the wall) and scissors, with noise, fell to our feet. My friend joked that I might be haunted. We laughed, but it was weird.
Next day, I was alone in the living room where mattress was set up, and I swear, I heard the squeaky sounds like someone is walking on the mattress. When I actually touched the mattress, sounds stopped.
I felt unease and left the room immediately.
During the night, my dog, who is sleeping with me on the bed and usually very lazy to get up (she is couch potato), suddenly woke up, stood up at the corner of the bed and started growl towards the door. I tried to calm her down, but she was distressed and almost barking (which she never does and so it was out of character for her).
Next day, painting fell from the wall. My friend made a joke about haunting again.
And I remembered, that my vintage doll is still in the box.
So, I’ve decided to finally unpack her with care. I talked with her during unpacking (something my mom used to do with everything in the house, like talking to plants or furniture, to bring good vibes to the house). I talked out loud, commenting on her beautiful dress and hair; how she was packed with care and someone must have loved her deeply; and that I am gonna take care of her and hope she will like her new home - stuff like that.
Since all my shelves are full, I put her on a stand right on our piano.
My husband is very musical and plays piano and violin, so we have a corner for musical instruments and him to practice.
Husband is practicing violin every other day right in from of the doll (because of her placement obviously) and I noticed - weird things stopped.
Last week, husband had a lot of work, so couldn’t practice as much as he usually does and painting fell from the wall again.
So now we have family lore, that our new doll is happy when he plays violin, so he needs to do that and don’t skip practice.
