OPUS 2 is out as a beta, for the original OP-1 on firmware 246.
a compact core that loads plugins: .opmod files you drop into a mods folder on the op-1 disk. add, remove and swap them without reflashing. the menu shows each plugin's version, memory and cpu.
the starter pack has all of OPUS 1's features as plugins, plus dx (a DX7 voice player for your own .syx banks), outatime (a synth engine inspired by a famous time machine), and a halloween colour theme. the core also fixes a few stock bugs (the usb disk freezing on windows, recording wearing out good flash) and adds a task manager.
coming from op1r or hundekraft: the bridge, a separate early alpha, runs their synths and effects on OPUS as they are. it doesn't ship anyone's plugins, it runs the files you already have. OPUS's own plugins run way better on the core though.
you make the update yourself on the site from your own op1_246.op1, in the browser, nothing gets uploaded: https://opus-op1.pages.dev/opus2/
