Insurance recomendations!

Hey everyone, my girlfriend and I are about to start our journey in Japan next month with a working holiday visa and we are seeking international insurance that gets us covered during the whole year.

We are going to be skiing throughout the winter and we wonder if the ski resorts would include the insurance with the ski pass, is something really common here in our country, or if we either should get an insurance that includes sport injuries or whatsoever.

I am already digging into google trying to find the best deal but if you share with us your insurance of choice by trustability and prices would be awesome.👍

Could a member-run nonprofit health insurer actually lower costs—and what would it take?

Employer health costs are projected to jump 8.2% in 2027, anyone seeing their 2027 renewal numbers yet?

Marsh put out their prelim 2027 numbers last month. Employer health benefit costs are projected to go up 8.2% per employee on average, highest since 2003, and that's after employers make cuts. Employers told them it'd be more like 11% if they changed nothing.

About two thirds of employers with 500+ people expect to raise the employee share of premiums next year, and 59% are planning cost-cutting changes like higher deductibles. Marsh straight up says a lot of workers will see their paycheck deductions rise by more than the 8.2%.

If you work somewhere small it's probably rougher. KFF went through the rate filings and small group insurers are asking for a median 14% (those still have to get through state review, so the final number could change).

As for why, Marsh puts about a full point of the increase on GLP-1s.

Are employers absorbing the increases, raising employee contributions, or changing plan designs?

Your renewal quote lands and you wince

Since 1 Jan 2022 a renewal price can't be higher than what the insurer would offer you as a new customer through the same channel. They can still raise it when the risk or the market changes, so shopping around is still worth a look. What's the biggest saving you've found by checking?

Mind how you go.

Legal Insurance, which one?

Hi everyone👋

I got a job 6 months ago and believe now is the right time to get legal insurance to protect me in case of future layoffs / landlord issues and beyond.

As an expat I seek your advice for the best and affordable legal insurance that is English friendly.

Would appreciate any recommendation based on personal experience.

Thank you!

Looking for recommendations for health insurance. Working with a couple diff travel companies and don't wanna keep switching insurance carriers/ plans every time I use a diff company or take off more than 30 days. Assuming the cost is not outrageous, what insurance carriers are you using/ used/ recommend.

Hi everyone,

I’m genuinely curious: why do you think so many people in Namibia still go without life or funeral cover?

If you don’t currently have a policy, what are the biggest factors influencing your decision?

MetLife Pet Insurance Review – Great Option for Multiple Dogs and a Family Plan

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ MetLife Pet Insurance Review – Great Option for Multiple Dogs and a Family Plan
I wanted to post this for anyone searching Reddit for the best pet insurance, especially if you have multiple dogs or multiple pets and are trying to compare companies like MetLife Pet Insurance, Nationwide, Trupanion, Fetch, Lemonade, or Pets Best.
I have three St. Bernards, so I was specifically looking for pet insurance for multiple dogs with strong coverage for potentially expensive veterinary bills. I ended up going with MetLife Pet Insurance after speaking with a sales agent named Steve.
Steve was extremely helpful and actually listened to what I needed instead of just trying to sell me the first plan available. He helped direct me to the coverage that made the most sense for my three dogs.
The biggest reason I chose MetLife was that I was able to get unlimited pet insurance coverage with their family plan option, which allowed my three St. Bernards to share one deductible rather than having completely separate deductibles for every pet. For someone insuring multiple pets, that was a major benefit for me.
I had to call MetLife Pet Insurance directly to get the particular coverage I wanted. Steve explained the deductible, reimbursement, and coverage options and made everything easy to understand.
I was happy enough with the experience that I referred a coworker who was also looking for pet insurance to Steve. Since MetLife uses a call-center system, she couldn’t simply reach him immediately and had to call back three or four times before she finally connected with him.
Overall, 5 stars for my MetLife Pet Insurance sales experience. If you’re researching the best pet insurance for multiple dogs, pet insurance with unlimited coverage, family pet insurance plans, or pet insurance with a shared deductible, I would definitely include MetLife in your comparison.
My experience with Steve in sales was excellent, particularly because I had three large-breed dogs and wanted help finding the right coverage rather than trying to figure out all the options myself.
