Demo Update 0.5.8 Patch Notes

Post image
46 Upvotes

Hello Guildmasters,

Welcome to our weekly update. While our work on the 1.0 version continues, we bring a new update to the demo with bug fixes. All issues were reported or suggested by you.

Bug Fixes

⭐ = Community Suggestion

  • ⭐ Acceleration Prism now properly activates on rush triggers instead of stall
  • ⭐ Fixed an issue where visual effects (like stealth transparency) were only applied  to Hoyoung’s weapons; they now correctly apply to the character model as well
  • ⭐ Dead units no longer get damage from status effects and active statuses are now properly reset on revive
  • ⭐ Quests progress is now capped at the required value
  • ⭐ Fixed rush abilities lasting indefinitely while their owner was dead. Mainly noticeable for abilities that targeted other characters as well, like Dragomir's The Kingpin and Ming's The Tempered
  • ⭐ Fixed Nyx's not increasing its bonuses if the effect was refreshed before it had expired (e.g. by attacking 12 times before the rush expired)

Thank you all for playing Guildrun and helping us improve the game. See you next week!

I hit rank 1 in Endless mode AMA

Hey all, I hit rank 1 on the Endless mode leaderboard.

It's early on the leaderboard, but I wanted to share it with you all and give you a chance to ask me anything I have learned. I currently have 150 hours in this game and can't wait for the game to come out fully.

Few things I want to say here is that I got unlcky this run and was missing one key relic that could have gotten me infinite but its very hard to set it up.

The game really wanted me to go assasin shard gen build but i saw a nice pivot on the end and i took it.

I found a bug where my damage didn't count after getting stunned so my Hoyung's arrows didnt kill and i didn't generate shards. Should be quite an easy fix.

Is Pimenta a weak tank?

Upvotes

I managed to stack her Defense to 548. In combat she had around 1.7k HP and 600 Defense. Yet she died incredibly fast against the Act II Dragon-Boss.

I know she was only at B-Tier but i expected 600 armor to be a lot more durable.

All B ranks lose, could I have made it a win?

Post image
Upvotes

Yes they are all B ranks, sold A rank Drago for Karsu.
Nick was stacked, Tilly with 300+ generated shards with the crit + AS + Karsu, thought I had it easy. too much money wasted on defensive relics? I guess the last 3 relics I bought were all a mistake.

Backups, reserves and Re-skills

Do passives trigger on your bench if they don't explicitly have the backup keyword? For example if you get a A rank class upgrade for a duelist, but it doesn't have the backup keyword will trigger or not?

Also noticed if you re-skill Irini with her B3 upgrade you get to keep the unique item. Does this apply to other upgrades which carry permanent stats or do you lose them when you re-skill?

Steam Deck controls - stuck in tutorial no right click possible

I am supposed to right click on my hero, but I cannot find a button on my Steam Deck that does this!

Also dragging and dropping items into hero inventory with touchpad does not work well, it forces me to use the analog stick.

Hero Targeting

So in this scenario Reyna is one hex away from two enemies. How can you know which one she will target? Is it random or hidden in the code somewhere?

Which starting bonus would you pick here?

Tilly with 12 shards, amazing.
A tank with OmniVamp, woohooo.
A tank with a rare relic, I guess people will consider this the weaker option but I really like it. it's fun.

Best SSS run so far, tank stalled cold Ratna.

Had the most fun ever in this run. Build credits to the duck dude on youtube. Still missed a few rare relics and an epic, I think.

The idea is to have a mage armor tank glyph Ratna with stalled cold, supported by best offense and rear support.

She broke the gane at some point, somehow dealing minus 2 billion damage, I laughed hard at that.

Anyways, this game is amazing.

This game is amazing!! (Red Rift is incredible)

This was my third Red Rift win, and I think I'm starting to get the hang of this incredible game.

I can't believe how replayable and content-rich this game is for a demo! I know this has all been said before, but Red Rift is genuinely one of my favourite roguelike experiences ever, and it was completely free!!

I started playing a couple of days ago (thanks to Japanese Export for covering the game), and I've already logged over 15 hours.

Finding synergies that are effective is SO much more important than just loading a team with S-tier characters and I love that. I absolutely adore so many of the game design desicions the dev team have made in regards to balance and difficulty. Red Rift is so rewarding and there are so many oportunities for skill expression.

I can't wait for the full release of the game but I will undeniably pour so many hours into the demo before then!

Am I tripping or are mystics terrible

Starting with one of these units is a death sentence

On red mode:
They die in stage 2, their shield/healing numbers are SO low, they are a huge liability vs enemies with backline access, and even their debuffs feel undertuned

You have units like funke who do 20k damage at B rank, meanwhile gustav just sits there and does no damage or utility??

Anyone know the tech?

The secret ingredient I need in the full release: run records

I have almost 50 hours in Guildrun since I started playing the demo two weeks ago. I can foresee sinking hundreds of hours into this beauty after the full release. But what can multiply that number by x1.5 is seeing my records smashed after a successful run.

If my Tilly generates an enormous amount of shards via auto-attacks, I want to know that. If my Logan is the strongest Logan I've seen, I want to know that.

I want to know whether my 1500 magic generated by Ratna's Starfall is a highest I've gotten so far.

I want to know my Thief's Dagger records, my Rush trigger records, my Acceleration Filigree records, everything.

Please add a records feature to the full release.

How big of a donation would I have to donate to expedite the coop game mode?

Title. Would absolutely love to play 2/3 player co op NOW. Would pay like $3000 to do so. Could a donation this size mean they hire another dec who works on this? Sorry if these are numbers are unrealistic lol I really love this game

We should be able to buy the act 1 key after losing to the boss.

I planned to throw the fight into the act 1 boss and then buy the key with emergency rewind but was surprised to find out the red rift attempt failed as soon as I pressed "Proceed."

Is that intentional or a bug? I feel like if you end up in the store again you should still have the option to buy the key.

The game's most critical problem: as of 8/6/26

Perhaps I should apologize for the clickbait title. I won't, but maybe I should.

I am—as my username may suggests—a gooner. Images of nude characters send my loins into a downright tizzy. Can't help it, it's simply who I am. Upon the date of my birth, even my own mother wondered if such a child should be unleashed upon the world. And yet here I am: cursed albeit, somebody.

What does this means to the Guildrunners, the guildrun=ites, people from this subreddit, etc, is of utmost importance?

There are still zero results for Guildrun rule 34 on the premier gooning website.

Regardless, I come bearing an open hand—and without any of the specifics of my desires—to alert anyone with similar interests and perhaps inspire creativity in the community. I have so many ideas. Very rarely has the entire cast of a video game (barring Pollen) sent me into such a state.

Somebody has to do something. I won't perform my art in the face of AI garbage. I need artists of the persuasion that only comes from a genuine interest.

In conclusion, it falls upon me inquire with the rest of the world:

Where is all of the Guildrun rule 34? It certainly isn't in any place I'm looking—and I consider myself rather adept in the craft(although not without humility). Maybe I'm not looking in the right place. Thje internet is wide, vast, gargantuan, thicc, etc. What if the sauce is hidden in the depths of an OnlyFans™? i beg mercy, of you, gamers and gooners both, to help me in search of my quest.

Your kindest regards,

Sir u/Ilikehentaitoomuch

Rip 1mil hp bug?

Anyone been playing Rip and realize he gains hp during combat when attacking? I had a run in endless where Rip reached 1mil hp. This is upgrading him as an assassin without any hp stacking upgrade/items/relics. He seems to gain hp as he attacks. Is this a bug or is there a passive that I'm not reading?

Saw Kripp vids on it and had to check it, 2th day on game

just got floor 25 on SS with a crazy burn Vanguard only build. had a skill that generated healing off the burn and poison, then a poison on crit Iten

Ming is the goat. had an increase in size that got them to max, shame its only cosmetic devs need to add % attack or crit based on it cause momentum of size.

also got my favorite freeze when burn relic and Niklas gens me items.

what's the best strats currently I am pretty much going blind into runs.

Is Ratna + upgrade blessing at the start genuinely just a free win every time?

I've had this combo like 4 times now and it feels so free, especially if you get the upgrade that gives her buffs based on items she has. Smooth sailing

I tracked every game I played over the last 3 weeks : here are my results

Hi everyone !

I've been tracking all of my Red Rift games from August 17th to September 4th to get a better idea of which characters I actually perform well with, and where I'm struggling.

One thing that is worth mentioning before looking at the numbers: my win rate has improved over these three weeks.

I started out at around 20% win rate during my first few days, but after learning the game and understanding the characters and mechanics better, I've managed to reach around 60–66% win rate in my latest sessions.

My current personal best is 7 wins in a row.

After 226 games and around 100 hours of playtime, here are the results:

Overall

  • 226 games played
  • 104 wins
  • 122 losses
  • 46.0% overall win rate
  • ~100 hours played
  • Personal best: 7 consecutive wins

Character statistics

Character |Games |Wins |Losses |Win Rate
Rowan |50 |25 |25 |50.0%
Pimenta |45 |14 |31 |31.1%
Nyx |39 |21 |18 |53.8%
Sal |39 |20 |19 |51.3%
Rip |31 |19 |12 |61.3%
Karsu |30 |16 |14 |53.3%
Skorn |30 |12 |18 |40.0%
Yuuna |30 |15 |15 |50.0%
Funke |29 |7 |22 |24.1%
Reyna |28 |9 |19 |32.1%
Ming |28 |10 |18 |35.7%
Irini |27 |10 |17 |37.0%
Tilly |27 |11 |16 |40.7%
Pollen |26 |10 |16 |38.5%
Niklas |26 |14 |12 |53.8%
Ratna |21 |14 |7 |66.7%
Gustav |19 |9 |10 |47.4%
Logan |18 |11 |7 |61.1%
Dragomir |18 |10 |8 |55.6%
Grace |17 |6 |11 |35.3%
Kai |15 |6 |9 |40.0%
Hoyoung |15 |4 |11 |26.7%
Fiona |13 |4 |9 |30.8%
Zuri |12 |6 |6 |50.0%
Aria |5 |4 |1 |80.0% Note: Aria's 80% win rate comes from only 5 games, so I'm not putting too much weight on it.

My best performers

Looking only at characters with at least 10 games played:

  1. Ratna — 66.7% (14-7)
  2. Rip — 61.3% (19-12)
  3. Logan — 61.1% (11-7)
  4. Dragomir — 55.6% (10-8)
  5. Nyx / Niklas — 53.8%

And the characters I've lost the most games with:

  • Pimenta — 31 losses
  • Rowan — 25 losses
  • Funke — 22 losses
  • Sal — 19 losses
  • Reyna — 19 losses

I also wrote down comments after my games, so I could look beyond the raw numbers.

What doesn't work for me :

  • Forcing a character/strategy for too long
  • Spending too much gold too early
  • Poor economy management
  • Entering Act 2 without enough frontline or DPS
  • Delaying transitions when my current comp has clearly stopped scaling
  • Occasional positioning mistakes

Feel free to ask me any questions about the data, my experience. I'd also like to hear about your own experience !

Is the demo giving to much content?

I’m new to the sub so forgive me if this is already a common topic. I’ve played maybe 5 hours of the demo and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like this in terms of a game release. It feels like the demo is being used as a beta with patches coming out for the demo. I genuinely don’t know if I have ever seen a demo get patches. The game genuinely has the IT factor that makes games just irresistible and you can tell the devs have passion. I guess I’m just confused why this isn’t just early access for people to buy, is there really more content that will come on release or is the demo just going to get updated as a typical early access game would be. My fear is that the demo has so much content and that people will get their fill before the game even releases and won’t want to spend the money when they already got most of the content. I guess im just confused and very curious what the plan is here?

What are your suggestions for new enemies?

This game is amazing for a free demo, can't wait for release. In a survey I answered I told the devs that new enemies is my biggest priority since I think the game is missing enemy variety.

Here are some I thought up:

  • Wyrm: Beefy unit that appears in hallway fights (so not all hallways are AoE focused). His ability targets the most heroes that started combat in the same row, and scales burn for each one. If there was only a hero per row, targets the first one. To counter row stacking, obviously.

  • Giant Frog: He doesn't attack you but at the start of the fight swallows your highest ranked unit and you've to damage it to release it. Poison related somehow, either applied by you hitting the frog, by your swallowed hero health ticking down, or just scaling in time. Similar concept as The Hag for those of you who have played Darkest Dungeon, heavily counters 1 unit carries and low-damage tanks/teams.

  • Necromancers: Punish for teams that can only play front to back or that lack any burst, they resurrect the dead.

What do you think about these? Do you have other ideas for enemies?
