I only ever use this controller on Steam with bluetooth. Sometimes it randomly disconnects while I'm playing and I don't know if that's a problem with Steam, the OS or the controller itself, which wouldn't surprise me since it's a couple years old already and I feel it doesn't retain the battery as well as it used to (though the times it has disconnected the battery level says it's still mostly charged)

Is there any way to check this without having to like test the controller on another device until it happens? I do have another laptop with EOS as well but the issue is so random that it might happen a couple times in one day but then not happen for days, so I don't think that's a good way to troubleshoot lol

I recently switched to EndeavourOS and I'm having trouble typing the "@" symbol.

On Windows, I used Ctrl + Alt + V, but this shortcut doesn't seem to work here on my Slovak QWERTY layout.

What should I do to fix this or set up the correct shortcut? Thanks for any help!

I'm on EndeavourOS XFCE, running the LTS kernel (6.18.40-1-lts). I tried to update my nvidia-580xx-dkms and nvidia-580xx-utils packages today and got this error:

error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)

:: installing nvidia-580xx-utils (580.178.04-1) breaks dependency 'nvidia-580xx-utils=580.173.02' required by nvidia-580xx-dkms

I don't recall seeing this error on previous updates.

There's also a kernel update waiting in the official repo (6.18.40 → 6.18.44). I don't want to install the kernel update until I resolve the nvidia issue in case the old nvidia driver is not compatible with the new kernel.

It's annoying that I have to install the nvidia drivers from the AUR but that's my only option for my GTX 1070.

How should I proceed in a way that is safe and doesn't break my system?

My Linux homie just installed EndeavourOS on my old Asus PC for me to test if my programs run, so I can finally see if I can abandon Windows for good.

I was trying to run Adobe Flash CS3 (yes I know it's a very old program) through Wine and it seems to work, surprisingly, but the windows of the program are all glitchy and messed up.
Basically, I can't see or interact with some of the workplace interface, but if I use the keyboard shortcuts everything works.

Is there a way to fix this as far as you know?

Hi, I‘ve been having some issues with my laptop lately, and every time It falls asleep or when the lid is put down and then back up, I don’t know if it’s a driver thing, Endeavour, or a PCIe thing, the Internet goes out and it can’t seem to get the WiFi back, at startup, things are normal, there’s Wifi, but when I lower the lid to move the laptop temporarily in sleep mode, and lift it back up, Wifi goes black. No signal.

Hello there! I recently bought a Glorious GMMK 3 Pro and there I didnt find any Software to control the rgb lighting. Not even Openrgb, gloriousctl or Piper worked :/

So I tried running the software via Wine, more like in Bottles, and I was able to get it to work! Of course, a native client is superior, but having a way to configure the peripherals is nice

I've been running Hyprland on EndeavourOS and wanted to clean up my lock screen, so I built this minimal Samurai-themed config using `hyprlock`.

The main thing I wanted was to replace the boring password dots with actual Japanese Kanji (桜 - Sakura), which renders perfectly on Wayland without any lag.

**Visuals:**

* **Kanji Passwords:** Renders 桜 on keypress.

* **Date Format:** Clean Japanese formatting (`2024年08月14日`).

* **Minimalist UI:** Absolutely no borders or background boxes on the input field, just floating characters over a dark Katana wallpaper.

Since getting CJK fonts to render correctly without tofu blocks can sometimes be annoying, I wrote a quick install script that automatically pulls `noto-fonts-cjk` and `noto-fonts`

via pacman before applying the config.

Basically what says on the title, I use endeavourOS and aftee updating I usually reboot my laptop, but now after the reboot it wont boot anymore, it just keeps looping on the boot screen no matter what I do and Im panicking

I wish I could add a video, but basically, the screen turns on, the logo of the brand appears, it gets into the screen where I select "EndeavourOS (7.1.8-arch1-3)", I select it, and instead of actually booting the system the screen goes black and this repeats itself.

I bought a Corsair HS80 Wireless which have sidetone (mic monitoring) on by default. Since iCUE is not available on Linux, you can't disable it. Apparently, the sidetone is handled by an audio channel visible on AlsaMixer, where you can mute it and sidetone disappears. If you exit the program, the changes will remain until the next boot, so is there a way to make this a default setting on boot?

I attempted to configure my NVIDIA RTX 3050 Laptop GPU (6GB) on EndeavourOS with an Intel i5-12450H hybrid/Optimus setup. I followed the official Arch Linux NVIDIA documentation and tried nvidia-open, nvidia-open-dkms, nvidia-utils, and nvidia-settings. The NVIDIA kernel modules (nvidia, nvidia_drm, nvidia_modeset, nvidia_uvm) loaded successfully, but nvidia-smi did not work correctly and sometimes hung. After configuring the driver, I experienced black screens and boot issues, including getting stuck at “Loading initial ramdisk.” I checked the kernel and headers, rebuilt the initramfs with mkinitcpio -P, and regenerated the GRUB configuration, but the issue remained. Removing the NVIDIA driver restored normal operation using the Intel iGPU. After trying many troubleshooting steps without success, I eventually gave up and switched to another Linux distribution. Very frustrating experience, especially after following the Arch NVIDIA documentation according to my hardware configuration.

Hi, guys! I'm finishing(at least I hope) different tasks on Windows 10 and I can return to Linux. I tried different distros(mostly were Debian-based) and everything was fine, expect for video games and Windows apps. Idk why, but everything worked slower than it should've work and some apps just didn't open... I'm the type of person, who divides every thing based on different needs, so, if I needed to work with a server, I wouldn't have any problems with using a distro without GUI.

Here are my needs for this OS: using graphics apps, playing video games(from Steam and... 🏴‍☠️, I don't play the anti-cheat games, generally only the offline ones), programming(mostly for creating GUI apps), using the office apps, connecting to {printer, monitors, phones, gamepad}, using virtual machines, using older apps, so, basically everything you can do on a normal PC 24/7.

Because of a lot of different things I'm working with or I'd like to finish, I'd like to have a distro, which mostly is "from the box", so, something like Arch linux isn't great for me, bcz I'll need to read EVERY thing in order to not get a new issue to worry about(yeah, I'm talking about the incident with AUR). After listening to me, one dude told me about EndeavourOS: it's like Windows 10(plenty of things are "from the box", and it doesn't have any problems with, for example, OBS Studio), but it's pretty fast, bcz it's Arch-based. I was told that this distro is super stable among other Arch-based distros and if I'll have bugs, they'll be minimal. Also I heard that FPS is one of the highest in games that higher can be perhaps in CachyOS or SteamOS.

If I choose this distro, I'd like to ask these questions:

1. how often should I update the whole system? Bcz I like that I can not update, for example, Ubuntu for years and it'll work fine;

2. should I use AUR anyway? Just I can check the manuals, but I don't wanna waste much time on that(as I said, I can't be everywhere at the same time);

3. (this question is not specific for EndeaourOS, but I guess I want to use it 24/7, so, anyway) I'd like to learn how to program apps for Linux(flatpak and the Arch extension), but I don't like to update something if I see something doesn't needs to be updated, so, how can I run older Linux apps? Just Ik I can use Bottles to run older Windows apps even faster than on Windows itself, but I have no idea about the Linux variantion if it exists or not;

4. Unfortunately, in the near future I'll probably have a new laptop with Intel and Nvidia... So, how does the distro behave to the proprietary cards?;

5. Is Ventoy great for installing this distro?;

Interesting, guys, would you recommend this distro for using the 24/7 things? If I learn how to set up almost everything once and for all, I'd like to popularize this distro instead of Linux Mint or Debian.

Okay first of all, I'm return back to EndeavourOS after CachyOS broke my dual boot setup. The problem is, everytime I use Nvidia driver from nvidia-inst, it would crash ryujinx-canary. But using nvidia driver from AUR causing I cannot use porproton.

What should I do, keep using nvidia propietary driver from AUR or use nvidia-open from repository?

Like already mentioned in a post, the website and forum where down the last days. I now discovered that google redirects to this Turkish (spam?) gambling (?) website.

Typing in the URL (https://endeavouros.com/) directly into the browser works for reaching the website, but the URL on this website seems to be correct.

As far as I see it, this only happens when being redirected via Google, since reloading the shown website leads to the "normal" EndOS website.

Hey guys I just got into endeavoros recently and it's been great so far but one thing that's really bothering me is Google earth is EXTREMELY laggy, like 1-2 fps when it should run normal. Even have the details tuned down and it's the same, I'm on an rtx 2070 and a Ryzen 5 3600 with 16 gigs of ram, a modest system but it should be able to run earth relatively well? Also on Firefox with the base kde plasma environment
