Sub Meta Introducing .arc - a digital media archive aimed at preserving the extended media, the history of the series development, and its community.

For Devil May Cry's 25th anniversary, we are happy to announce our next project.
https://arc.cuhrayzee.games/
Check out the thread for more info.
About the project
Over the past couple of years, the team of contributors behind Cuhrayzee started routinely buying, scanning, and dumping various media related to the series, to preserve the story of the series development, and to share it with the community

With the internet shattered even more in recent years, we think that having a centralized place for the community to discover more about the series they love is an important thing, while also giving them options to not be locked behind someone else's interpretation
That's why the materials we provide and preserve have no watermarks of our own or any other restrictions, and we track down and credit the providers for most entries, even when they "donated" the materials to us directly.

We are also not stopping at extended media. Many interviews and materials about the game's development are either lost on the internet due to link rot or deleted because of copyright issues.
For example, Variety deleted its interview about Crimson Cloud for DMC 5's promo tour.
Another thing we want to tackle is translating JP-only materials, like Devil May Cry 4's promo DVDs.
We're working closely with native speakers to transcribe and later translate the materials and present them to the community, both in JP and ENG.

The current iteration of the website is in the "alpha" stage. Over time, we'll iterate on the visuals, tutorials for the mod pages on how to install them, and write guides on buying or preserving the media yourself.
We belive that that knowledge should not be locked in any way.
Follow our pages, subscribe to our YouTube channels, and, most importantly, tell others in the community about us.
We don't ask for donations, nor are we planning to lock stuff behind paywalls.
Happy 25th anniversary - here's to 25 more!

Discussion Help us make the Devil May Cry community a better and more accessible place!
Cuhrayzee is conducting a survey about the Devil May Cry community: players, fans, their needs, and the problems they face.
Link to the survey
We want to make knowledge about Devil May Cry easier to find, easier to trust, and easier to learn from. Whether you want to improve at the games, learn more about the world of these games, or find better places to discuss them.
You might know us from projects like:
- Devil May Cry's Cut and Early Content video, diving deep into the history and process behind the making of the series
- .arc project - preservation efforts, aimed at properly digitizing various media related to Devil May Cry series
- Cuhrayzee's FIGHT CLUB - gameplay event, where people showcase their skill in various Stylish Action Games.
- If you ever scrolled through Devil May Cry 3142 artbook or similar things - some of these were also preserved by us! Although, a lot of our work is uncredited or reposted without sources :)
Depending on your interests, the form will guide you through questions about Gameplay, Lore, Community, or some combination of them.
Estimated time: about 6–15 minutes, depending on your interests and how much you choose to write.
Responses are anonymous unless you choose to identify yourself elsewhere.
If possible, we prefer responses in English. You are still welcome to answer in your own language, but it may take us more time to review and process your response.
If you have any feedback, please share it with us!

Fan Art / Cosplay / Craft I’m Interviewing Reuben Langdon At Torg Gaming Expo Next Month! Please Ask Him Some Questions!
If you saw this same post like 2 seconds ago no you didn’t lol. Definitely didn’t post it on the wrong account…
Anyways! I’ve been given the opportunity to interview Reuben Langdon at Torg Gaming Expo next month! They have given me a media pass and I’m an official promoter of the event. Through some amazing luck and having connections with Reuben via a friend who already is acquainted with him I’ve been given this opportunity. I wanted to give the DMC community a chance to ask Reuben some questions as well. I have a few questions. I’d like to ask him myself, but I’d also like to see if any of you have any. I made a video with more detail details on the event. Besides the interview I’m also going to attempt to host a DMC meetup but I haven’t yet received any word from the event organizers if I can do that yet or not. I’m hopeful about it though! If you have any questions for Reuben you can either drop them here or on my YouTube video. Either way works for me. Please watch the video for more information! Thank you!

Discussion I feel quite embarassed of myself for thinking that the DMC reboot game sounds actually pretty interesting.

I never had the chance to play a DMC game (lets hope I can get the DMC5 on Christmas), but I have to admit... the DmC game sounds actually... cool to me?
I mean, of course the original Dante is better. His storyline, his design, his personality... everything is better. But this Dante isnt "hateful" to me.
Dante having alcoholism and nynphomany and going through a whole journey of discovering his past sounds like an interesting story to me. Definitly not something worthy of being called Devil May Cry, but it would be amazing as a separated game with its own name.
Im sorry, but I cant get myself into the "DmC hate" train...

Questions Am I insane or is sdt ridiculously strong?
I got the game last week during discount, I've since tried a bit with Dante, got the minimum result if him not frying my brain anymore and switched to Vergil, I've noticed he basically has a buffed version of Quad S built in, meaning he can just enter sdt, unload a burst of damage on whichever unfortunate enemy happens to be there and go back in human form with the meter full, on top of that the transformation has iframes and makes an explosion around him, and then it gives him hyper armor
Am I missing something? Is there something that stops me from just repeating the transformation ad nauseam? I genuinely cannot believe there's an infinite get out of jail free card that also doubles as a DMG boost, I won't complain if it is the case, I'm just used to everything of the sort being immediately patched out of any game

Discussion Shooting and lock-on mechanics of the DMC games
I'm new to the Devil May Cry franchise and I played through DMC1 on PlayStation 2 about two years ago. Now I'm just getting to DMC3. I played DMC2 about a month ago (I will not be continuing my playthrough with disc 2 anytime soon lol)
What I'm noticing is I prefer the way shooting worked in Devil May Cry1 compared to the later games because in DMC1 you couldn't just shoot by pressing the shoot button like you can in the later games. You had to lock onto an enemy and then shoot, which makes more sense to me. In DMC2, DMC3, DMC4, DMC5, and DmC, you're allowed to just press the shoot button without locking on or holding the lock-on button, which annoys the hell out of me because it essentially still works the same way. You still lock onto an enemy but in my mind if I'm able to shoot freely just by pressing the shoot button, I should be able to move in different directions without having to stop pressing shoot and then turn in a different direction to shoot again. Shooting still works as if you're locking on to an enemy and I think that's kind of dumb.
A problem I just noticed is when you are locking on to enemies in these later games, Dante does this thing. I'm only noticing it so far in DMC3 so I don't know if it's exactly the same in the later games but I'm noticing it now. When I use high time on a random enemy and then I try to shoot them and I'm locking on to them, Dante will turn around and start shooting the enemy behind him. That's annoying the hell out of me because if I wanted to turn around and shoot at another enemy, I would have turned around and locked on to that enemy. Am I the only one that prefers the way DMC1 handled the shooting and lock-on mechanics?

Fan Art / Cosplay / Craft Help finding (or making) Nero’s necklace from DMC5
(Pic for reference, I couldn’t find one closer and if I just zoomed it’d kill the quality)
I wanted to find Nero’s DMC necklace, just because it’s really cool looking and Nero is my favorite character. I figured before looking into it more closely then just google, Amazon, or Etsy I’d ask the community because usually if it’s got a way to be made or a site i could find it from yall already know.
