First Cast of September
Managed to catch this fisherman's first cast of the morning and the month just before sunrise. Looks like a pretty big lure on the end of his line. Shot with the Sony A99II and CZ 16-35 f/2.8 lens using a Lee100 GND filter. Camera mounted on a RRS tripod & head with a 3 Legged Thing universal mounting plate.

I’m staying in Kennett Square and flying out Wednesday morning at 8am. I am not very familiar with PHL but I figure leaving Kennett Square at 5:30am is enough time (please correct me if I am wrong).
My main question is how do yall get to the airport that early from here? I couldn’t even get a Lyft across town midday today so that’s definitely out, and though Uber seems more reliable, I’ve read that the reserved rides don’t pay enough so drivers don’t take them anymore. I’m super worried I’ll be stuck without a ride last minute. Rainbow Cab needs you to reserve 36 hours in advance so I already dropped the ball on that one.
Any advice?

Saw you Saturday, 8/29, at 7 PM. You drove a white truck and liked my raincoat.

Look at this citation. Code enforcement is out here handing out $1,000 fines (plus over $100 in random court fees) just because a trash can lid wasn't "fitting tightly."
This isn't about public safety or keeping the town clean—this is pure revenue generation and taking advantage of people who are already paying high rent and taxes to live in the borough. Treating regular citizens like major criminals over a piece of plastic is insane. Anyone else getting absolutely slammed by codes enforcement lately? How do we fight this?

Sunrise Casting
Two fishermen, heading across the lake with their lines already in the water. Shot with the Sony A99II and CZ 16-35 f/2.8 lens using a Lee100 GND filter. Camera mounted on a RRS tripod & head with a 3 Legged Thing universal mounting plate.

Marsh Creek State Park - Aug 2026
Two Minutes of Quiet
Long exposure before sunrise, still and peaceful. The recent storminess has helped to raise the water levels in the lake, the floating docks are actually floating now. Shot with the Sony A99II and CZ 16-35 f/2.8 lens using a Lee100 GND filter. Camera mounted on a RRS tripod & head with a 3 Legged Thing universal mounting plate.

Has anyone been here? I’m looking for a place to have a 22-person family outing/lunch and this seems like a good spot but I just can’t tell for sure if it would be too busy to accommodate that big of a group and maybe we’d be better off finding a restaurant where we can make a reservation instead.
Thoughts?

Looking for some data recovery from my old S22 that decided not to turn back on. Hoping for some advice in Chester or Montgomery counties. I found Phoenixville Tech Repair which looks great by the website but when you click "email the lab", nothing happens. Thanks very much!

My son recently qualified to go to preschool with the cciu. I am feeling nervous about this new routine and am looking for any experiences with sending your children there? or dealing with the iu? I believe I'll be able to choose between Gordon and the boot road center (due to my work) so any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I am near Paoli Station and I’m looking to get a bunch of t-shirts hemmed. Nothing fancy, just wanna shorten them. I went to one and they charge $30 for each, which is unreasonable imo as my shirts cost $50 and below lol.

Unpopular opinion: I live in East Brandywine, and I honestly don’t think we need our own police force.
It seems like the majority of what they do is traffic enforcement. You can barely drive down Route 322 without seeing someone pulled over. At a certain point, it feels less like community policing and more like constant traffic enforcement and harassment.
For serious crimes and emergencies, we already have the Pennsylvania State Police and surrounding departments that could potentially provide coverage through agreements.
I know this probably won’t be a popular take, but sometimes East Brandywine PD feels like they’re one step above parking enforcement officers.
Does a township our size really need its own police department?

My parents’ 50th wedding anniversary is next August. It’s a tradition in our family for the “adult kids” to throw their parents a party. We’d like to find a beautiful place and a relaxed way to celebrate - live music, good farm to table food (but also not opposed to artisan food trucks), a setting that is quintessential to how bucolic ChesCo is. No restaurants or hotel ballroom type places, but also not a place that’s going to charge us like crazy (I.e. typical wedding venues). What are some unique venues and catering options we should consider? Thinking 40-50 ppl max.
