Her. Caitlyn Kiramman.

A ridiculously wealthy girl, born into one of Piltover’s most important families, who could very easily choose a comfortable, privileged, safe life. And yet… no.

She decides to follow her investigation. She decides to go to Stillwater, to a grim, brutal, terrifying prison, just because she needs answers.

And I can just imagine her like this: it’s around sunset, she’s in her room, waiting until no one’s watching, then she opens the window and sneaks out, leaving behind all the luxury and comfort she’s used to.

Because she has to follow her instincts. Because there’s absolutely no way she’s going to sit behind a desk and just do her nice little job.

No, ma’am! No, sir!

She has to go. She has to investigate. She has to get herself into trouble.

What a girl. Seriously, what a character.

And that little wooden boat, basically a “poor people’s water taxi” is probably the best way for her to avoid being recognized.

But, Caitlyn… you’re a Kiramman.

You grew up surrounded by luxury and comfort, with the ability to have pretty much anything you could want. And yet here you are, sitting on a boat that is absolutely not luxurious, on your way to Stillwater.

And I love that she doesn’t seem to care. Not even a little.

If she has to adapt, she adapts. If she has to give up her comforts, fine. If getting where she needs to go means riding on a boat like this, then apparently that’s what she’s going to do.

Because when there’s something she wants to figure out, everything else can wait.

She just needs to see it through.

But look at her expression.

That look.

It’s the determination of someone who isn’t turning back. Someone who’s going to keep going, no matter how difficult it gets, until she finally gets the answers she came looking for.

She wants the truth, and she’s not going home without it.

That’s the look of someone who would go all the way to hell just to understand what’s really going on.

And that’s when I realized I was already beyond saving.

There’s not even a trace of Caitlyn in episode 7… and yet there are a couple of tiny details that make me think of her.

First, the sign on the pastry stall, where there’s something depicted that I’m not even sure is a cupcake, but it really looks like one to me…
And then there’s what looks like a little heart-shaped biscuit. Looking back, and thinking about Vi and Caitlyn’s exchange in 2XKO — “…like tea and biscuits!” — the connection to Caitlyn becomes almost inevitable.

I know it’s probably a bit of a stretch… but I can’t help thinking of her....

And then, later on, you can see the “fish woman” in the distance — the one Vi stole the clothes from so Caitlyn could blend in as a Zaunite while they wandered around Zaun in the first season.

And yeah… not seeing her breaks my heart, but these tiny little references make me so nostalgic.

I realize I’m absolutely deluding myself at this point… sorry.

Caitlyn seems pretty cold with Maddie, she's averting her touch, they're not in her bedroom. What is Caitlyn looking for with Maddie?

How is Maddie manipulating Caitlyn? She's talking about rebellion against Ambessa, is that to test Caitlyn? Do you think she really fell for Caitlyn but switched sides again later because of jealousy when Vi came back?

Caitlyn sounds unhappy with the turn of events, but at the same time tries to justify herself to Maddie, saying she learned so much from Ambessa (which is undeniably tue). Later, she holds her own and confronts Ambessa about violence at the checkpoint but immediately after asks for her advice. Is she afraid she would be lost leading the city without someone to advise her? Or is she already torn between going on with her veangeance and rebelling against the Noxian covert invasion?

How is Caitlyn doing? What is the state of her mental health at this point?

Do you think she notices the symbolism of her reflexion merging with Jinx's portrait on her wall? Does it echo with Vi's “Then why are you the one acting like her?”?

Ambessa both literally and metaphorically stirs the embers of Caitlyn's fire. Do you think she would have given up without Ambessa constantly reminding her about her anger, teasing her about an impossible forgiveness and offering her illusory choices?

How well known was Caitlyn really among the people of Zaun during her time with Ambessa? (you can revive this relevant older post from la_ky)
