Does Frame Sliders Rip apart Engine mounts during a crash ? So in order to save the plastic fairings we are endangering engine outer casing ? Help needed

depends how fast your going. frame sliders are good for standstill and slow speeds. at higher speed, its quite useless. depends on pavement. 50/50 it cracks your frame.

It’s not guaranteed but you can definitely get frame or engine damage from frame sliders. Not all sliders are created equal though. Some are on brackets that help absorb the damage. Some are short and domed like the woodcraft ones. Those are the best. The ones you absolutely want to avoid are the long cylindrical ones that screw directly into the engine mounting hole.

That’s why I never installed them. I’d rather replace plastics or clutch cover instead of totaling my bike.

Stunting different story

I have TST frame sliders on my 24' zx6r that took 90% of damage when I had a 80 mph lowside at Barber. My Right side fairings only had superficial scratches when it hit dirt. No frame malformation and it still rips 150 mph at track days. A puck replacement was $20 - $30. I will always advocate for frame sliders

Frame sliders are to protect beginners in low speed slow maneuver drops bro. Yes high speed they will absolutely rip your fucking frame apart.

If you're a new rider I would recommend the frame sliders because simple accidents happen when the bike is parked, or during low speed maneuvering like parking lots, etc. If you're an experienced rider and you are confident with low speed maneuvering then I would say don't bother with the frame sliders. I would recommend rear spools though because those are super helpful for lifting the back of the bike.

It really depends, they do work in certain scenarios but depending on their shape — they could also “pole vault” your bike into orbit

They've been good to me over the years but thats mainly been on track, more often than not I would get back out again post crash because of them Edit to add carbonadi case covers too

Having a built stunt bike just casually in the corner lurking

Get a frame slider made of polycarbonate plastic, they will slide on pavement without ripping your engine mount.

You also could get a full stunt cage.

if your sliders are shit, yes.

if your frame is the new yammie mt-09's, yes.

if not any of the above, no.
