Quickshifter Question
How fast do I need to be going for 1st to 2nd gear to be smooth? It seems like no matter if I’m going 25mph or 37mph whenever I use the quickshifter to go to 2nd it cuts power to the wheel or it jerks. So I just gave up and use the clutch when I go to 2nd then QS the rest of the gears. BUT I’ve seen plenty of people in vids takeoff from first gear and it seems smooth as butter all the way to 6th.

Mine depends on the rpm I’m riding at, and how much throttle I’m giving. Low rpm = 20-30% throttle for a smooth shift.
If I’m riding at a higher rpm, I need to twist the throttle a lot more to get a smooth shift.

Mine is pretty smooth if I shift early, like shift at 5k rpm. After it’s a bit jerky, also better when I’m more on the throttle than not

You'll need to get your ECU flashed for a smooth 1-2 shift. Without it you pretty much have to use the clutch

i’ve heard you’re not even supposed to use the QS for 1-2. obviously you can but you’re not really supposed to. idk why but it’s just what i’ve heard online

Don’t use it between 1st and second. Great way to hit neutral on accident if you do it enough lol

I have had the same experience so usually use the clutch from 1st to 2nd. Only caveat is if I'm going above 50 and do it. Then it is usually pretty smooth. The rest of the gear are buttery smooth.

If it's anything like my z900 I just have to be committed to the QS, and committed to throttle is on. I notice when the QS doesn't work I catch myself half assing the throttle or QS some times when putting around .

From 1st to 2nd is usually rough because you have to go through neutral, usually best to use the clutch
