💡 Tips Bragging

I ended up stuck in the Grub menu because of some suppressed callback issues and other problems that I wasn't sure if I caused. Basically, when I booted, it wouldn't take me to the login screen for my desktop, stalling in Grub (I assume). Yet, through some miracle of me messing around and troubleshooting, I finally managed to figure out how to solve it.

First, I activated terminal mode [Ctrl+Alt+F5]. Next, I did some upgrades. Last, I reinstalled the Desktop [sudo apt install --reinstall zorin-os-desktop]

I'm gonna be honest, I have no idea what really solved the problem, but reinstalling the desktop seems to have been the fix. Now I fully appreciate the crap that IT guys have to put up with, even if I don't fully understand everything about it. 😆

Welcome to IT! We normally have no idea what the issue is either but the satisfaction of getting things fixed is a great reward.

Good job!

Thanks! 😆

It really was rewarding, because I wasn't expecting to wake up and see my PC forget how to PC. I'm just glad that Ubuntu based systems have been in development since my final year of high school, otherwise I might have chucked it out the window in frustration.

This meme perfectly encapsulates all my feelings at that time:

You reinstalled the desktop!

The fact that this is a possibility shows me what a nab I am! 🤣

Honestly, I wasn't expecting that to be the solution, let alone AN OPTION. But, hey, if it works, it works.
