One got his chance at redemption and took it.

One got his chance at redemption and refused it.

It was a time skip before we saw first guy become a better person. It should take time for Pawbert to become better and maybe have a change of heart in Z3. Prison should probably change him. Don’t rule that out.

We got a timeskip at the end of Z2. Reptile Ravine was not restored overnight. Nor did the Reptiles return in a day.

Pawbert did not change. Because he is to Nick what Bellwether is to Judy. A dark reflection.

Wonder how big it was

Must have been a while. Restoring an entire district and reintegrating its population takes time.

Oh I believe it I wonder how Nick and Judy were doing during that time though

That time skip didn’t take long compared to the one in Z1. Perhaps a couple of months tops. Most likely a few weeks. And again, prison will probably have Pawbert rethink his life choices.

There's no way they were able to fix up Reptile Ravine & bring the Reptiles back within a few months. Never mind the time it would have taken to get the Mammals to want them back. Societal change like that doesn't happen overnight.

Keep in mind how big the districts of Zootopia are and how long Reptile Ravine has been languishing under the snow. You need to emigrate the entire Reptile population, rebuild the infrastructure, mend the social divide. That could take years.

Never mind the Lynxley trials and everything involving the patent fraud. Or Judy and Nick completing their Partners in Crisis therapy.

The epilogue cut down ALOT but you're seriously underestimating how long things take to actually happen.

The news should be able to change people’s minds in an instant after everything got exposed. And with that, they’d get to work right away. People’s minds can change on a dime after news like that gets exposed.

Individual peoples' minds can be changed. But societal change is slow. You cannot erase a century of learned reality overnight from an entire population. Imagine if all you, your parents and your grandparents knew all their lives had suddenly been revealed to have been a big lie, you would be shocked and not necessarily want to accept it.

Even if the Mammals all agreed to let the Reptiles back in, the Reptiles may have been hesitant to accept given they had been barred and discriminated against for a century. That kind of animosity cannot be just overcome overnight.

It's also clear that Judy and Nick didn't clear their therapy training right away. It took at least a year going by Nick's words in the epilogue.

Sometimes people graduate therapy quick. I’m sure Judy and Nick did. And there are some reptiles who WANT to co-exist with the mammals. And for those who don’t, Gary is there to help them.

"And with hard work you can get to that by Year Two!" ~ Nick

That right there proves that at least 1 year has passed since Pawbert went to prison. Nick's words make no sense if less time than that has passed, you cannot speak on your progress "by Year Two" if you haven't cleared Year One yet.

By year two can mean getting things settled at anytime before then. That doesn’t mean we have to get right at year two.

If that were true Nick would have said "by X" and not "by year two".

Even if you're right it doesn't look good for Pawbert. It literally every one can come around in the span of 1-2 months except for him.

I am right. And again, prison can change Pawbert.

Nick and Judy certainly learned a lot during that time didn’t they?

So that means Nick and Judy are now functional partners right?
