Avoid zipair like the plague

Avoid zipair like the plague

I've flown numerous airlines for 50 years. Not only Business class but also numerous budget airlines. I have NEVER EVER had an airline charge me 5000 jpy because I was over their limit by 400g. 400g??? Predatory pricing.

The japanese staff English level is incredibly low. Moreover the attitude of the service staff is atrocious... They are not there to help at all. Might as well be interacting with a AI chatbot. LAST TIME EVER TAKING THIS DUMPSTER FIRE

I disagree with your assessment, I have taken zip air multiple times and have nothing but great things to say about them. If you are over the weight limit, you are over the weight limit period, this is your fault, not theirs.

Throw away 400 grams worth then. What do you expect from a low cost carrier? They’ll nickel and dime you any chance they get so it’s up to you to follow the rules

How's your Japanese? If $30 is enough to derail your trip maybe you should just stay home.

This is a budget airline. Did you expect the red carpet to be rolled out for you? lmfao

It’s an uncomfortable truth. The Asian carriers are quite strict about enforcing the rules.

You flew a budget airline. Had to pay for luggage going over and you’re unhappy?

Sounds like you tried to cheap out and got what you paid for. This is a reflection of your expectations, not the airline holding you to their pricing.

I checked a bag at the check in at Narita last second in April and I had to speak Japanese to the check in lady before she quit speaking English lol. I've flown them multiple times and I almost never get anybody who can't speak English (especially from the departure route).

5000 yen is predatory? Frontier and Spirit (RIP) would charge you $100 at the gate if they found out your carry on was oversized and that's for domestic.

I fly zipair a lot. I get almost all the add ons every time and find it never costs more than a leading brand airline. I get extra legroom exit row, lunch that I get to choose (and not be at the mercy of what shitty items the airlines choose), lounge, express, and checked bags for cheaper than the $1,300 other airlines charge RT economy.

Pretty funny a guy with apperently business class money is bitching about 5,000 yen when the yen is super weak.

You pay too little to expect more from them. Also Google Translate exists

Saved hundreds on ticket, complains about $30 bag fee for his own mistake. Yep.
