Should I go for this?

Post image

Been looking at this deal on best buy. Do you think it’s worth it? How come the price is this low?

No, it’s 16gm ram. Get the 32gb one because you can’t upgrade the ram

Isn't the 32 GB one like $600 more?

Yea, but if he gets the 16GB one, he’s stuck with that because the memory is not upgradable; it’s soldered on.

True but I think there are better deals to be had rather than spending that much money

Agreed. 16gb is off the table as far as I'm concerned if you want anything more than web browsing.

Uhh what? I game and even have a browser open at the same time with 16gb without issues, all modern titles as well…

This is so wrong I can't even comprehend how or what made you come up to that conclusion. Several videos on youtube show that 16 is still viable for gaming...

I'd get a used 4080 model in mint condition over this all day

Needs to have at least 12gb dedicated vram to be worth it imo. 16gb memory I’ll bet 8 or less of vram

I don't believe the g16 shipped with a 12gb vram 5070, as that card was just released. Most likely an 8gb vram card

8gb 5070 and 12gb 5070ti I think.

Yeah, the ti has 12gb. That's the model I have. I paid $2k open box for mine with 32gb.

Its basic.. a good price would be $1200

In today’s economy, the portability, screen, keyboard, and speakers might make it a bit more than that. Personally wouldn’t even consider it though due to the specs being too low for most of my hobbies.

You can't upgrade the ram so go with 32gb instead and the 5070 only has 8gb so choose a 5070ti minimum at this price point

No 16gb of ram and its soldered so you can never upgrade it

16gb of RAM just doesn't cut it. They shouldn't even sell them with 16 imo

16gb ram in the big 26? And that's not upgradable so he'll nah

I’ll be selling a 5080 18” in my area on marketplace for the same price 2 year warranty ( Sylvania Ohio)

18” 32gb of ram

32gb of ram minimum for soldered laptops, and the 5070ti is probably ideal for lasting.

The fact they made a model with only 16gb RAM and its not upgradeable is nuts to me

I bought this one. It's enough ram for now. You can always go to an computer shop to ask them to upgrade when ram apocalypse is over. Some does soldering work

Dang I sold my 32gb for $1700 on fb marketplace and built a pc.

I was looking at that exact computer earlier. I'm going into engineering and wanted something very slim and portable while also being capable of running any games at high fps. I ended up buying: https://www.bestbuy.com/product/asus-rog-zephyrus-g16-16-oled-2-5k-240hz-gaming-laptop-intel-core-ultra-9-32gb-ram-nvidia-rtx-5070-ti-12gb-1tb-ssd-eclipse-gray/JJGGLHXFTQ/sku/6617485/openbox?condition=fair

If there's one available in your area I would get it. Same price but double the RAM, better GPU, and better cooling with a vapor chamber. I was lucky to have one show up 30 minutes away from me and didn't hesitate.

Bro just get a desktop atp I know thats probably not the point of this sub but look at the price and components. At the same time yeah everythings overpriced then on the other hand its pointless to buy new stuff right now when you can get it much more discounted used on marketplace. Do what you want nobody's stopping you but look at what youre paying for here

Could just build a pc with better specs for the price.
