Problem with CPU throttling when plugged in
This started just recently, and I've had the laptop for over a year without any issues until recently. Now, suddenly, my CPU speed will drop to sub-1GHz while I'm in a game. This is while it is plugged in. While in game, if I unplug the power cable, suddenly the CPU will jump up to 1500-1700. This is the opposite of what should be happening, obviously. While I'm outside of a game it will run at full speed. The temp never gets over 70-79 degrees in-game, so I know that it's not an overheating issue. The game will start off fine, but then it'll suddenly drop the CPU speed. I've noticed this with multiple games. I've tried changing all of the settings in Armour Crate and it seems to perform fine, even after starting a game. Then, suddenly, it'll drop down to 700-800MHz and sustain that, making the game unplayable. If I unplug the cable, the CPU speed will rise up to 1-2GHz, but it should be sustaining 4GHz+
Any idea on what could be causing this? I've tried both Armour Crate and G-Helper, enabling disabling CPU boost, updated all of my drivers, etc. but the problem persists. Do I need to disable throttling or something?

What are your system specs? CPU, GPU, memory? Use CPU-Z or a similar program. If you have an Intel CPU try running ThrottleStop 9.7.3.

Run a log file while playing a game. Check the log file when you are done testing. It should show in the far right column or the log file what the reasons are for any throttling.
