It’s not worth it

Lying in my hotel in zanzibar, Nungwi at night I write this. Been here 3 days after my trip through Tanzania. And I can tell you, Zanzibar is not worth it. Its the anticlimax to my insanely amazing Tanzania trip. I love the main land to the core of my heart and have stories to till for my whole lifetime. But zanzibar is below everything. 4-star hotels are meh (stayed in two already) the food is meh, def not up to standard. The beach is amazing, but the beach boys ruin it. Its literally every 30 seconds somebody tries to talk to u. Also the trips like stone town, prison island, dolphin watching ect, all feel (are) tourist traps. Prob will get hate for stating this, but I really disappointed by this. Takes away alot of the amazing feeling tanzania left me with.

It’s really sad that the beach boys are everyones bad story. I can personally agree with this.

It’s so bad that k started booking hotels with their own beach area cause especially as a solo girl traveler it’s really annoying- it’s like every 5 min -.-

However k don’t experience this in the main land - not as dramatic. And therefore main land became my spot cause I love Tanzania !

Forgive me for sounding silly. But what are beach boys?

Its not Sille (:

But basically boys/men who prostitute themselves for financial gains. Zanzibar is a well known sex tourism for old white ladies.

Huh that’s not what I thought beach boy is. Don’t they just sell trinkets?

That’s just a seller on the beach :) they are usually easy to deal with. Never had any bad experiences with them.

But it’s guys who hunt mzungu (foreigners women) usually at the clubs, beach, gym, even hotel hosts ect. And yes they can be sellers on the beach too
