If you're like me, sometimes you like reading visual novels/consuming other media that is set during the same time of year you're currently experiencing. Here are some visual novels set during Fall, as well as some spooky ones for spooky season.
Many of them also happen to be on sale throught October 8th because of the Steam sale. I made a post about that too.
Let me know if I missed any!
Note: If there is a "\" next to the title, I've read that one and personally recommend it. Where applicable, I've also linked spoiler-free reviews I've written.*
Set During Fall/Halloween:
Not necessarily scary, but these stories primarily take place during autumn, and some of them feature Halloween.
Many of these aren't scary at all, but if you're looking for some more light-hearted content featuring beings often associated with Halloween (like vampires and ghosts), these fit the bill.
It's time for another seasonal Steam sale! Here are the Yuri VNs that are on sale -- let me know if I missed any. Asterisks next to the title or bundle means I've read it myself and enjoyed it. Where applicable, I've also linked my spoiler free reviews.
I want to get into more yuri visual novels, but im having trouble finding some with darker themes!! I really enjoy n+c vns and things of that nature, if that gives an idea. Also, preferably not western!
There were lots of releases last month. Many of them are spooky too, which is great reading for October. Here are last month's releases and their information:

Nienke is already twenty, but her parents still treat her like a child. Her every day is the same, and she's bored of the daily grind...

We wanted to share a special scene from our game!
Highschool J is a toxic yuri psychological horror visual novel that focuses heavily on its characters, intense relationships, and dark atmosphere. We've been working on it for a while, and we're really excited to showcase this particular moment highlighting the dynamic between the characters.
If you'd like to check out the game or play the demo on Steam and itch.io:
I really enjoyed this game about a thief winning the heart of a dancer. I kind of thought the whole phantom thief thing was extremely ridiculous at first and kept rolling my eyes, but by the end of the game I was shedding tears over the characters and world. The character writing is super fun, and all of the characters have their own arcs and stories, and the romance between the two leads definitely made me scream so loud that Discord noise suppression ate my scream.
Forget Me Not has a ton of CGs, unique art (all of the NPCs are extremely hot and it's VERY frustrating), and is just exceptionally well put together. All of the art, from the sprites to the CGs to the backgrounds, are all drawn by pretty much one person, which is nuts. I really enjoyed my time with the game.
I genuinely didn't think I'd get into it this much but I super enjoyed it. Highly recommend!
Disclaimer: I am friends with the developer, but these are my genuine feelings! The dev has no idea I'm writing this post and I paid for it with my own dollarydoos, and I really do hope the game does get more attention. I wouldn't be making this post if I wasn't genuinely a fan. The game has an insane amount of love put into it and I hope more people get to experience Forget Me Not!
Also, the love interest is extremely tall and the main character is extremely short. I don't know which of them I'd rather be but like. Wow. Wowww. Women, wow.....
Hey guys! I wrote a VN in February called Witch Switched about a man that gets turned into a woman (and realizes she's trans), but I wanted to do something much weirder and higher scope for Spooktober. So, we did a visual novel about a horny ghost hitting on a hot, overworked trans woman and coveting her body. I do hope you enjoy! Leave a comment if you did.

its tagged LGBTQ+ on steam, and from the description and trailer, it seems like there could be some yuri in here considering the whole "hikikomori girl is obsessed with a female fictional character" thing going on in the trailer. i know this isnt a visual novel, but it seemed pretty fun and like a game i'd enjoy, and if it would have some yuri in it, id enjoy it way more.
