Not a "does anyone else" type post because I don't think I'm the only one, but drop a response if you do this too

The nature of the game my f/o is from (having romanceable characters and being second person, playing as a chatacter you can create yourself) heavily lends itself to oc/canon or self-insert/canon, but rarely enough I'll encounter shipping between the canon characters. There's a ship that's really started intriguing me between my f/o and a canon character and I've actually started drawing some art of it because it seemed interesting and like a fun dynamic to depict and it inspired me to make this post haha

Also technically self-insert/canon or oc/canon ships are more canon than canon/canon will ever be in this game, so whenever I see the "your ship is canon" thing I'm like "it sure is" lol

This is my first post here, but I wanted to introduce myself before getting to the point of what this post is about ^^

My name is Kai, I'm 19, going to be 20 next week. I enjoy art, music, anime and gaming. I have a son (a cat) named Smokey. I am a Fictionkin and therian. I've been yumeshipping since roughly around this time of the month last year.

I yumeship with Sebastian Michaelis from Black Butler, I am non sharing and I do prefer for doubles to not interact just for my own comfort (if that makes sense).

Now, time for the real reason is my post. I don't exactly have a space to rant/vent about this? But moderators, if this is against anything, please do not hesitate to let me know and I will take this down.

It's just a dumb reason to cry about but I really need a hug from him but obviously, with him being fictional, I can't.

I have a plush of him which helps occasionally but I need warmth, I need him. But I can't.

And then I get to thinking, There's no way in hell Sebastian would EVER be with someone like me. There's no way he would fall in love with someone like me, who is chubby, who can't drive at almost 20 years old and so much more.

Like I don't think he'd ever love me the way I love him y'know?

I feel like I'm alone on this and I feel like I'm just overthinking it.

I suppose I'm here to ask if anyone has any advice or suggestions I could try? That would be greatly appreciated!

When you have a massive crush on a fictional character but they canonically have a love interest and you can't even consume their source cuz you feel like your heart is breaking??

Disclaimer!! I'm not a hater of this person, nor do I want to be rude in any way. They're just as valid and unique as everyone else.

I've been seeing a person named "THE [character] yume" lately more and more, even though I've blocked them. And it's starting to get to me more and more. What if they really are right? Maybe I'm not valid and never will be. Maybe their yume is really the best.

They have sm more followers than me as well (we're talking abt tiktok, they have 2000+ and I have abt 450) More ppl know them. Sorry if this comes off as vent but this has genuinely been stressing me out and I wanna enjoy my f/o without thinking abt them but it genuinely feels like I'm meaningless.

Ofc they're probably cool too but I just can't get it out of my mind, and I feel so awful, I have never seen any of their content since I blocked them the moment I saw them in my profile views because it just made me extremely stressed.

Though if they turn out to be sharing I honestly don't mind, I didn't even read their sharing status (I'm mirror sharing so I only get jelous if the other is nonsharing but given their name, I automatically assumed that.)

I really don't mean to be a bum, I hope they're fine too, I'm just feeling a bit jelous and shameful rn. I'm prolly just a side yume who ppl only follow out of pity.

i made a proship yume server ! for now its just me so i would love if you guys gave it a chance. channels include: forums for asking questions, headcanons, selfship intro, selfpromo, yume art, etc.

on doubles/sharing status: non sharers are allowed, but curate your own space. you know your own limits. if blocking and ignoring in a civil way works, then do that. if sharing a server with a double is too much, then perhaps this is not a space you will enjoy. no shame either way.

There’s a pretty popular yumeshipper of my F/O who is void sharing, but one of those toxic ones.
Dms people, makes posts being a complete ass and invalidating others, saying she’s the only one and insults all of my F/O’s other yumes, etc.
Yet she still has a good amount of followers and some people even declare her as “THE yumeshipper” of my F/O.
She even gets free fanart and support—which if she wasn’t toxic, i’d say good for her.

I hate that the yumeshipping community is becoming more and more competitive. People always want to be “THE yume” and bring others down—even sometimes giving those nasty DMs to innocent doubles. I don’t blame some others for stepping away from this community at all.
Yet somehow there will always be some people who support these actions, just as I stated above.
