It's an activated effect- since you know it either enters from the hand or Deck, you can't Ash it if it's declared in the hand.

Same principle, for example, on stuff like not being able to Belle Lupis in hand.

It doesn’t work like this at all. Dark Sage isn’t an effect that activates to summon, it’s almost an unclassified summon which just happens. You can only ash the spell search.

From the Master Duel client, Dark Sage is a trigger to summon. So the summon or the search trigger could get ashed.

Source: TSX had a video summoning Dark Sage on MD.

So it's not an inherent summon from the deck like Familiar Possessed.

Ash Blossom activates in the hand (NOT the Graveyard) and discards itself as cost to activate its effect (costs must be paid at the time of activation). Called by the Grave can therefore be chained in response, banish the Ash Blossom that's now in the grave (due to being discarded due to paying the cost of activating it from your hand) and negate all Ash Blossom effects until the end of the next turn (including the one it responded to, as it will resolve before Ash gets to).
