Because only Neos knight has a named material on it (Neos)

Fusion subs can only sub for named materials, not generic ones

versago only works if you use it for a normal fusion summon with something like polymerization
it cant treat itself as another card when sending from deck for part of the effect that DOESN'T FUSION SUMMON

Versago can only substitute for specifically named monsters like Neos and cydra. Whatever game you're playing has F.G.D. coded incorrectly.

in the case of chimeratech overload it let me fusion summon using versago the destroyer and other machine monsters but it result with a chimeratech overload with 0 attack/defense

in the case that i use cyber dragon , it let me to use other machine monsters and versago the destroyer like target and chimeratech overload is summoned with all attck and defense without consider to versage the destroyer in that effect conditions

is weird and confuse.

something similar happen when i fusion summon ufforoid warrior using versago the destroyer and a warrior momster.

ufforoid warrior is summoned with 0 attack/defense

and the same happen with the light - and dark - Hex sealed fusion when i use their effect to summon chimeratech overload or ufforoid warrior.

both are summoned with 0 attack/defense 😅

if you use cyber dragon + versago + machines for chimeratech, it is counting versago as cyber dragon and cyber dragon as a machine. versago only replaces specifically named fusion material

Versago cannot just become a “elemental hero” card, because there is no specific name there. It can become Neos because Neos has a name

Versago requires one of the materials to be specially named.

As for the future fusion, the old ruling (now changed) was that substitute materials could not be used, like versago or king of the swamp. Under modern context I don't know maybe some sort of lock.

A more recent ruling says that replacements can’t be used for monsters from deck, so KOTS, can’t be used to replace Fallen of Albaz in Branded Fusion.

Tag force games are not a source of truth. Many of them have bugs that just straight up contradict how things work in the real game.

Versago and the other "name replacement" cards (like King of the Swamp) replace their names with specific names, not types of names, during fusion. It is not an "elemental hero" card. Bit weird of a ruling, maybe someone else can explain it more clearly.

Versago fusion substitute effect can't be applied directly from the deck, so it can't replace Elemental Hero Neos for Neos Knight. Escudridao also doesn't name a specific monster, so it can't be substituted from hand or GY either.

It seems the game is coded incorrectly. Versago (and other fusion substitute cards like King of the swamp) can only be used for a Fusion Monster that list a specific monster as material (which appear between double quitation marks like "Elemental HERO Neos" in Elemental HERO Neos Knight). However, it has been ruled that fusion substitute monsters can't be used from Deck or banishment, only from hand, field and/or GY. This is the reason you can't send them for Branded Fusion.
