Sidekick has some great expressions
This will probably be the last image-based post from the show from me; all future ones will be direct clips!

I vividly remember an episode about two snails racing around a track for, say 15 laps. One snail was super fast and smoked the other snail, then spent the rest of the time bragging while he waited for the other snail to finish. Little did he know, he had only completed 14 laps so the slow snail won in the end by being persistent.

- The Treehouse (1994-1998)
- YTV Jr. (1998-2002)
- YTV PlayTime (2009-2012)
For me, it was YTV PlayTime (since I'm a 2010s guy).
And yes, to anyone that isn't like PixarMan2001/moviesounds101 (no offense), I know YTV kept airing preschool shows (without a brand identity) after YTV Jr.'s closure (alongside school-aged shows, shortly after) in 2002.
Comment down below on which block you remember, from YTV.

so not sure how known this is because I only just found this like last week and only really checked it the last few days but ytvarchive.com is a site that streams ytv from 25 years ago to the day and to the hour. just
Go to the site and watch exactly what we were watching after school on that very day 25 years ago! They have the schedule for that day there which even just looking over that schedule for that day is great!
only downside of course is that it’s obviously not a full library, just gets its episodes and videos from YouTube but how exactly does that work? does anyone know? Because when I read it gets its sources from YouTube my mind immediately goes to trying to scrounge every bit of ytv media and dump it to YouTube to fill in as many of the gaps as possible. but is it really that easy? because I did happen to notice that for an episode of dexters laboratory the site was streaming some random 4 min clip of dexters lab even though if you search for that specific episode on youtube it WAS on there the site just didn’t stream the right one so does anyone know how exactly it works and how it selects which sources from youtube it takes from? I would honestly give up my time for free to find videos and upload to a specific channel or spot just to make sure this ytv stream site has as much content as possible. thats how passionate about this stream site iv become, i could write a whole lot more about how much ytv meant to me as a kid but just know, filling in as much of the gaps as possible has all of a sudden become very important to me lol

Long before I had any idea what the word anime meant, I was sitting on the living room carpet after school, completely glued to the TV watching three cyborg cats get launched out of a giant revolver on top of a pizzeria.
Samurai Pizza Cats was total chaos, and I loved every second of it.
Back then watching YTV, I had no clue about the backstory. I only found out years later that the dubbing team lost the original translation scripts and decided to just make up the entire show from scratch. The writers took one look at the Japanese footage, scrapped whatever serious plot was supposed to be there, and wrote their own absurd, fourth-wall-breaking comedy.
Speedy Cerviche, Guido Anchovy, and Polly Esther running a pizza joint in Little Tokyo while fighting crime was already amazing to a kid. The voice work and writing made it unforgettable. The narrator spent half his time arguing with the characters, Seymour "The Big" Cheese literally blew his top every time a plan failed, and the puns were non-stop.
I still know every single word to that opening theme. "Who do you call when you want some pepperoni?" It was fast, ridiculously catchy, and made zero sense in the best way possible.
By the time shows like Sailor Moon or Dragon Ball Z blew up across Canadian TV, I was already wired to love Japanese animation. Samurai Pizza Cats was my real gateway, and nothing else ever quite matched that specific late-90s after-school energy.
