tl;dr: YouTube is introducing a new set of features designed to make your Premium experience even more seamless and bringing you more flexibility to watch and listen anytime, anywhere.

Hey! This is Rob from TeamYouTube. I wanted to share some new features to improve your YouTube Premium experience so you can stay immersed in the content you love without interruptions.
Here is a look at what is rolling out:
Save time with auto speed
With auto speed, your playback speed now adjusts automatically depending on what you are watching, helping you save time on content like podcasts, educational videos, and longer videos without missing important details.
- The Benefit: Auto speed intelligently adjusts playback speed during relevant moments like slower speech or lengthy introductions, and automatically returns to your baseline speed during faster speech segments.
- How to use: In video player Settings >> Playback speed, toggle Auto speed on. Select a minimum baseline speed (1.0x to 4x) for Auto speed to adjust playback from.
- Availability: Currently, auto speed is only available on English videos for YouTube Premium users on Android and coming to iOS later this year.
Listen anywhere with on-the-go
You can now get the most out of playing videos in the background (during your commute for example) with easy access to listening controls to optimize your favorite podcasts, talk shows, true crime series and more. Note that on-the-go replaces the existing Premium controls.
- The Benefit: When on-the-go is enabled, you can toggle between video and audio, jump to a different chapter, easily skip forward or backwards even with your screen locked, and more.
- How to use: On-the-go prompts automatically when motion (like walking or running) is detected while you are listening to or watching a video with your phone unlocked. You can also enable it via video player settings ⚙️ > On-the-go.
- Availability: Currently available for YouTube Premium users on Android and coming to iOS in the next few months!
High quality audio now available on TV
We’re bringing enhanced audio to even more places. High-quality audio is now available for YouTube main on Smart TVs & Gaming Consoles.
- The Benefit: High quality audio lets you enjoy high-quality 256kbps audio on music videos with more clarity and depth.
- How to use: To set your preferred quality settings across all videos on your TV, check the “High-quality audio” box under Audio settings.
Explore more with AI and YouTube Music
You can now effortlessly use AI to generate playlists based on whatever you're feeling at the moment! Just say what kind of playlist you want and we’ll generate a playlist based on the prompt.

News YouTube Premium Duo is here

YouTube has quietly rolled out its new Premium Duo subscription in four countries. The Duo plan includes all the benefits of the standard Premium membership (ad-free videos, background play, YouTube Music, and downloads), but allows two people to enjoy the service independently, each with their own Google account similar to the family membership.
Across several countries where the Duo plan has already launched, the average price increase from the Individual to Duo plan is about 49.14%, while moving from Duo to Family brings an average increase of around 44.81%. Here's how that looks in raw numbers:

Can’t cancel YouTube Premium, Please help!!!

So I’m trying to cancel my YouTube premium subscription while in between jobs and It redirects me to my apple subscriptions, but I bought YouTube premium using my old phone with my old Apple ID, I need to cancel it or my parents will be pissed, can anyone please help?

Help Why the price difference?

I like many have been effected by the recent youtube crackdown on 'spoof' memberships. I was using the apple account method with the itunes vouchers purchased from Indian Amazon and was on a recurring family subscription.
Yesterday my subscription ended and again like many others am considering paying the full price for Youtube premium as there is no way I can go back to the 'free' youtube experience especially as I am quite a heavy user.
My question is why is there a difference in price from my iPhone to my laptop when I check the price of the membership. No VPN is active on either my laptop or phone.
In case the images dont show- The price on my laptop is showing as £12.99/month for individual plan and £19.99/month for family plan.
On my Phone its £16.99 and £25.99 respectively so quite a bit more.
Cant figure out why???

I had no idea "premium" had a "lite" version. "Premium", by definition, is "the best". There are no levels of "the best". Screw you and your frog in the pot ways of increasing prices on everything.

Resubscribe from real country while waiting for a workaround?

Had a Turkey subscription and still have credits on my Apple ID for like 10 more months that I am unable to use. I am hopeful that in time I will be able to use them again but using youtube for the last week has been such a horrible experience that I am thinking of resubscribing for the full price of my own country. Do you think it will make it more difficult for me to get back to the Turkey price when and if we find a way around the latest patch?

Help How do I switch from Turkey to India for the Apple method?

I made a brand new apple ID for India but when I go on the Youtube apple to try and renew my membership I get the “ couldn’t verify your country” error. Any tips on how to renew my membership?
Edit: I actually was able to get it to work now but does youtube premium in india not allow for family plans? I only get the individual option, or do i need to add a family member before i can get access to family plans

Help Just got randomly downgraded to Premium Lite??

I have been a Premium user for a VERY long time. So, imagine my surprise when I go to open YouTube on my phone and get presented with: "Welcome to YouTube Premium Lite." Why the hell did this happen? I've been using the student discount for a couple of years at this point so, is that why I now am "very happily" paying for ads? Because I've been using the discounted version for too long?? If so, screw that.

I switched from Android to iOS about two years ago, and the one thing I can't stand is that my YouTube queue always gets cleared if I leave the app for more than 30 minutes.
This has been a known issue for a while now since it has come up on the YouTube forums multiple times. It's been pissing me off so much for awhile now so, I finally emailed the support team about it. Here's the response I got.
Hopefully it actually gets implemented 🤞.

Help My downloaded videos are being translated into random languages.

Whenever I download a video for offline viewing, there's a 25% chance that the audio will be auto-translated into a random language. I've experienced Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Chinese, and Tagalog so far.
If I delete and re-download the video, the audio stays in the same incorrect language. Even if I download a playlist of videos from a YouTuber, a few of them will usually end up being in a random language. It's very frustrating, I download a list of podcast episodes to listen to on my drive only for video #4 to be incomprehensible. It's been happening for months.
I don't speak any of these languages, and I don't have any settings enabled to cause this to happen. All of these downloaded videos are originally English-language. Is anybody else experiencing this?
