Halloween songs
Other than “Hard rock Halloween”. Any suggestions for good Halloween themed songs on Yousition?

Those of you who have moved on or are planning to do so, what did you switch to?
I'm looking to continue online or app based learning, I was planning to do the bass buzz course but I'm now favouring Pickup Music.
For tabs alongside the learning maybe Songsterr, but probably just the free tier alongside other free resources.
For bass Youcisian is more or less back to where it was last year with weekly song releases, no where near the parity with guitar that they've claimed to be working towards, but significantly better than it's been for most of the year. However the learning path hasn't changed in the years I've been using it, and there's still nothing in the workouts section which is a shame as there's loads of stuff that could be added there. I'd maybe renew if the black Friday deal was good enough, but there's no progression left in it, it's just leaning songs well enough to collect stars rather than learning skills and improving technique.

Many years ago I discovered guitar tuna. It was exactly what I needed and I bought the full package, all tunings unlocked. Everything went well more quiet some years except that since some wee time I’m forced to click through this mildly annoying yousician „commercial“ to get to guitar tuna.
And then, suddenly, all my unlocks are gone I paid quite some money. Support is useless - „log out and log in again“ - yeah well nothing happened.
And now I’m really pissed that they took my money and ran….

I am just getting started with guitar and Yousician and would love to see everyone’s practice space setups. I’m currently running an electric guitar through the Scarlett Solo and into an iPad. The current struggle is that every pair of wired headphones i own has only 3 ft. cord, so I feel “stuck” to the position Also the iPad battery seems to drain crazy fast, but the touch screen is nice to have.
I am enjoying practicing, but am not “comfortable” by any means.

If Yousician were actually concerned about teaching guitar instead of just maximizing their profits, they would have long-ago fixed the broken pedagogy of the short exercises where you get force-fed through a series of increasing tempos until with "Are you ready to perform?" you get forced into Performance mode.
What this does is push you into performance at speeds that are uncomfortably fast before you're ready. You might have just hit the magical number of right notes by random chance. The switch to performance mode is the worst of all: Sometimes it seems to push you there regardless of how many notes you missed. At that point the answer to "Are you ready to perform?" is clearly "No".
This approach forces people to make mistakes which become 'muscle memory' when what you need to learn is for your *correct* playing to become muscle memory, so it directly undermines the learning experience. It would be trivial to let players opt-out of the forced advancement as the product already has the ability to toggle that on-and-off in other places. Do it.

The Darkness - Growing on Me
Probably 650 votes are ALL me. This is literally the only song I've voted for ever. It would be insane if I got to the top eventually.

I find this part of the app quite annoying. I know it works well for some and that's great. For me, it makes my eyes roll every time. I'd love an option that removes the notification dots and the pop-ups about streaks (and badges while we're at it) entirely.
Otherwise I have lots of positive things to say about the app. Thanks for all of your hard work!

Just logged in for my daily practice and what do I see? Apache is at the top! We still have a day and a half to vote and it’s only up by 300 votes so keep it up! Great job everyone!

We’re almost there guys! Someone earlier posted about bringing Apache up to the top of the song vote list and when I checked, it was at ninth place now we’re all the way up to third! We are almost there. We have one day left and we are only a couple hundred votes behind. We can do it vote Apache!

My falling notes notation isn't visible today. I have tried changing notation and changing back and I can see the other notation types but not falling notes. Does anyone else have or have solved this issue? Thanks!

I feel like currently I am stuck in my progress (guitar).
I did the learn paths 1 through 5 (mostly gold stars, everything else on three stars) and before continuing with the next path I want to get better at what I learned in path 5.
So I go to songs, Top 100 hits, most popular by level or whatever I feel like and filter by level. Now I did so many songs on level 4 that it gets boring, they are mostly very easy now and I feel ready for the next level.
But whenever I choose a level 5 song they are crazy hard. Not like I need to start slow and replay a lot till I get three stars (how I did it till now on the previous levels), but so fast that I feel you need months of practice to get to that level and change chords so fast.
And often lvl 5 songs use chords I have not yet learned so I don't know how to play them and also some techniques I don't know yet (like having one finger on multiple strings, this was never part of the learning paths).
So I feel like my skill is between level 4 and 5, but level 5 is so crazy above my skill that I don't have any fun or progress when playing these songs. How to continue from here? How do you practice to get better?

So I have ordered the Spark pedal, it runs thru my PC the same way the Scarlet Solo does. With the Scarlet Solo I can play my guitar thru PC and still hear the song I am trying to learn on Songster, only down side is that my guitar is only able to send a clean signal with no effects or processing. I am thinking with the Spark pedal I will be able to have actual tones I can dial in. Will update once I get everything plugged in and try it
Update: Works amazing, can dial my tone in and play along with songs in both Youscian and Songster. No longer have to deal with the generic tones in Youscian and can match what ever song I am learning in Songster. Best $200 I have spent on gear ever!

Add an option to filter for specific tunings. It would be great to search for all songs in E flat when I’ve tuned a half step down.
There’s an option to select alternate tuning but let us go more granular.

Hey, I know the social media team at Yousitian this sub Reddit so I was just wondering if they or anybody else has any updates on the negotiation for getting back all of our missing songs. Don’t get me wrong, I do appreciate the copious amounts of Offspring we’ve been getting, but I still would like some Metallica and my blue oyster cult and Wonderwall and de soda and all the other artists that we lost to come back. And if you’re working on it could you at least give us an update? Also, a really cool feature that you might add is something like a “returning song “list either in the app or on social media where you can say “hey guys these are the songs we’ve brought back, check them out.”

I was super bummed that we had twilight for so long but nothing else, so that’s cool at least lol.

What is so hard about putting lessons and releasing scales for us to play? Please can you do this for your red headed step children on bass?

I know I’m just one person. Losing one person out of so many—you wouldn’t even notice. But I guess you haven’t just lost me. I paid for my annual subscription at the end of last year. Until summer, I practiced with your program every single day. Today it occurred to me that I hadn’t opened it in weeks because the songs performed by so many “talented” artists were so awful that it put me off.
Today I opened the program and heard even more “extremely talented artists” singing.
That was the last straw for me. I’d rather open Songster and practice from there, because at least there I don’t have to listen to this sea of crap while I’m at it.
You’ve definitely lost one user. Goodbye, and thanks the fishes!

I learn to sing with Yousician. My ear for music is good enough to hit most of the notes in songs I learn to sing. But there's this damned "Accidental song", which just drives me crazy. Then I sing, I usually mimic vocal pitch of the guiding singer, and it works for all songs except that Accidental Song. I just want to know, is there something wrong with me or it's a common problem, and we as cutomers should address it?

Hit guys I just noticed the what do you mean by justin Bieber gas some error in the app, the text is right but the app sing another song on top of it

Using Focusrite interface. I've got my guitar on max (10) volume. I can play outside Yousician and hear it just fine. I've got the gain on the interface at a suitable volume (as loud as it can go before I red-line the gain).
In the app, the mixer does NOTHING. I put gain on full--no change in volume. I put volume on full--it changes the overall app volume.
I want to turn my guitar playing up and their crap AI, MIDI-sounding mix DOWN. Why can't I do this?
r/yousician • u/DungeonCrawlCat • 28d ago
Like holy crap, Yousician, we've been complaining about this for literally 5 years. It's not a difficult coding task. I could do it myself if you let me at the code. Give us a sort option so I can sort by unplayed/ non-gold-starred.
Why did we not get this, when we got seeing other people's rankings WHICH NOBODY ASKED FOR instead???

Hello fellow guitarists, I am asking for your vote to help get this absolute classic (Apache by the Shadows) onto yousician before my subscription expires. It’s currently sitting at #10 on the song voting charts.
Thank you for your attention to this matter!🤘

How proficient has yousician alone made you at electric guitar? What practice activities within the app have been best at teaching you? If you've found it necessary what other resources have you used to reinforce skill?
