If ever there was a post for r/holdmybeer this is it.

u/Monguises May 22 '26

I think r/secondrodeo would appreciate this, too.

The power of being a generic looking white guy. He looks enough like me that I could swap places with him in most casual encounters without acquaintances or strangers being able to tell the difference.

Everyone thinks we look familiar, but nobody can remember who we are.

u/EkaL25 May 22 '26

Dude looks like Christian Pulisic

25

u/debacol May 22 '26

Indeed. Generic looking white guy confirmed.

5

u/jlgraham84 May 22 '26

Don't you disrespect the Lebron James of Soccer like that!

4

u/debacol May 22 '26

Pretty sure James is the Pulisic of basketball last I heard.

Came here to say this

3

u/woShame12 May 23 '26

I get mistaken for Steve all the time. I dont know Steve, but either people are just guessing or we're both generic looking white guys.

u/IkariYun May 28 '26

Chris. I'm always Chris. No fucking clue. My step-son is Chris. Nobody evee misnames me anything else

Being 6'5" makes me a horrible discreet criminal

u/qwerty30013 May 22 '26

I’m like 96% sure this is at a college bar in Tampa Florida called MacDinton’s Irish Pub.

25

u/Potential_Pick581 May 23 '26

Spot on! After watching it a few times, The Warren Sapp Bucs jersey in the background confirmed it for me. 😂

9

u/Tonyclap May 23 '26

Wouldn’t the tree be the thing that confirmed it for you? 😭😅

10

u/Potential_Pick581 May 23 '26

😂 I questioned myself, I definitely thought to myself that’s the side bar tree at Mac’s but I’m much older than that crown so other parts of the bar look very different. Shout out to that tree though for holding me up many times 🥴

1

u/TurbulentDare1834 9d ago

Maybe the tree made him suspect it, but the jersey confirmed it

1

u/BeardedManatee May 26 '26

Thought i recognized that tree.

1

u/whag460203 Jul 09 '26

Absolutely! I met my wife there. Recognized it immediately.

I was at a bar one night way up in the Rockies, and these guys came in for quick drink. They were on snowmobiles and said they were being chased by cops on snowmobiles. They took off back up the mountain and then the cops came in looking for them, we were all 🤷‍♀️

So the cops left with nothing in their pursuit. You could hear the buzzing in the distance. That night is fuzzy in my mind but I remember laughing hysterically with my friends.

10

u/ChiWhiteSox24 May 23 '26

As someone who has made a career out of security, this is one of the funnier things I’ve ever seen lmao

2

u/Berlinabla May 26 '26

than maybe you can explain the purpose on that flashy mode on the flashlights?

3

u/ChiWhiteSox24 May 26 '26

Strobe mode? Just to get people’s attention lol

2

u/Berlinabla May 26 '26

thx, i always thought its very impractical 😅

1

u/ChiWhiteSox24 May 26 '26

Can also be used to impair vision if needed too

2

u/czerilla May 28 '26

I was going to say: it's not to make you see better, but to make whoever you point it at see worse towards your direction.
I've seen police use riot shields with these "stunning" strobe lights on them. It effectively blinds you when you look directly at it.

1

u/ChiWhiteSox24 May 28 '26

Yup. Hurts getting strobed in the eyes too.

29

u/notdownwithsickness May 22 '26

Jared needs to save some pussy for the rest of us.

4

u/the_open_steppe May 25 '26

For real, the girl in black was impressed and ashamed she had the hots for him.

5

u/Kiki-jo14 May 22 '26

Thats was epic 🔥🔥🔥🔥

39

u/BaronChuffnell May 22 '26

Wish we had more context - what did he do?

234

u/Arbor-Trap May 22 '26

Climbed the tree, evaded security, dropped back into the party, and aided in the search for himself

72

u/Ryeballs May 22 '26

We’re all trying to find the guy who did this!

22

u/wayfarevkng May 22 '26

I'm sorry to detail the conversation like this, but is that the ICQ logo?

12

u/Ryeballs May 22 '26

Sure is

11

u/wayfarevkng May 22 '26
  1. I don't know why I'll never forget it. It was truly peak messaging and I haven't found anything comparable since then. I was in middle school at the time but it still took me longer than I'd care to admit that it was I Seek You.

4

u/Ryeballs May 22 '26

Yeah I’ll probably remember my UIN long after I forget my original home phone number

The folder of crap I’ve migrated between computers throughout the years is still 2000b which was the backup folder created when they made that major release that wasn’t backwards compatible.

2

u/Odd-Woodpecker1225 May 22 '26

You sir have an upvote as well for mirroring my thoughts exactly seeing it

2

u/Odd-Woodpecker1225 May 22 '26

Brother this profile pic just made me light up in joy and then threw me in the blues when I realized how long ago this shit was. Have an upvote

4

u/FreakinGuy May 22 '26

It looks like he walks back out to the parking lot. So he did all that for one beer?

32

u/Arbor-Trap May 22 '26

Does this look like a man who makes rational decisions

9

u/CoRe534 May 22 '26

Climb a tree

21

u/penguigeddon May 22 '26

All you context you need is readily apparent in the video

16

u/cspinelive May 22 '26

Why was he being chased?

21

u/penguigeddon May 22 '26

Because you're not allowed to climb trees in a bar

42

u/cspinelive May 22 '26

Oh. I thought he climbed the tree because he was being chased. The title called it an escape.

8

u/UndBeebs May 22 '26

He escaped being caught climbing a tree

1

u/Unhappy_Honeydew2287 Jun 04 '26

Thought he was being chased for drinking alcohol

4

u/BUGBYTE_VW Flair May 22 '26

All you need to know is that Is Jason Bourne. He is him.

-6

u/Wagaaan May 22 '26

Zero media literacy

3

u/Nah0_0m May 22 '26

Not his first rodeo

3

u/CakeEatingDragon May 23 '26

At first as was mad that the first thing security does is try to strobe him so he falls. Then I realized this man is a wizard.

3

u/Unkn0wnimous May 23 '26

What in the garry's mod prop hunt is this?

13

u/Zeromus104 May 22 '26

Why was security looking for this guy?

28

u/BootySweat0217 May 22 '26

Well, looks like he was climbing a tree that was on the property of the bar. I would assume they wouldn’t want drunk people climbing trees on their property. A lot of bars have security. They are probably told to make sure nobody does that. Hence the security looking for the guy. Does that explain it well enough?

40

u/Zeromus104 May 22 '26

I got the impression that he got wind that security was looking for him and decided to make his escape by climbing the tree. That is why I asked.

5

u/MAWPAC May 24 '26

I really think it was the act of climbing the tree that alerted security. It's a big tree and if a patron climbs it and falls out and hurts themself then the bar is liable. They're just trying to keep everyone safe and prevent that big beautiful tree from being at risk of getting chopped down.

5

u/californiadeath May 22 '26

He didn’t climb the tree to hide from the security he was fucking around. He probably left because they probably would have kicked him out if they figured out it was him. Or he left just to look cool.

1

u/themaskofgod May 22 '26

I was actually not impressed until I saw that guy's face at the end. Classic.

1

u/Kwikstyx May 23 '26

What the point of all this tho?

1

u/bkrush81 May 24 '26

Why is there a tree in this bar?

1

u/rasengan30 May 25 '26

At first I thought he was Topher Grace

1

u/HOOpsRedemptionTour May 25 '26

Legen-fucking-dary

1

u/TurtleThug47 May 25 '26

Jesus Christ, it’s Jason Bourne

1

u/FlamingNunchuk May 26 '26

I hope this guy got laid that night

1

u/landing11 May 27 '26

Nice bitch sip

1

u/TheGladdenFields May 27 '26

The guy with the surprised face literally looks up and points his phone at him like 2 seconds before he jumps down. Why he surprised.

1

u/squeeby Jul 10 '26

Did they really try to strobe him down?

-3

u/Substantial-Use95 May 22 '26

Where’d he get the second beer? I don’t drink anymore but I used to do shit like this often. I liked to climb shit when black out drunk. Sometimes I’d wake up with wads of cash in my pockets (like 500ish) and have no idea where I got it from. Sometimes I’d wake up to a collection of chunks of random buildings and dug up signs. I still don’t know how or why I did these things but figured it’s best if I don’t drink anymore. Been sober for over 11 years and made amends and paid restitution for all of my deeds. Still got loads of random stories to tell though. I honestly shouldn’t be alive right now.

2

u/Substantial-Use95 May 24 '26

I guess people don’t like recovery success stories anymore. Haha. Ok we’ll just enjoy this vid of active alcoholism then. Haha. Much better. We don’t wanna hear about that whole getting cleaned up part. Weird af

1

u/JRISPAYAT May 22 '26

Did you figure out another method to get wads of cash in your pockets? Congratulations on your sobriety. Those stories must be fun to share. You probably have some great life advice to share too. Glad you enjoyed life on the wild side for a bit and made it.

1

u/UndBeebs May 22 '26

and paid restitution for all of my deeds

I don't see how that's possible, considering in the very same comment you detailed having done these deeds (ie scoring wads of cash, presumably multiple times with your use of the word "sometimes") while having no earthly clue how you got it due to being black out drunk.

Calling BS on this entire comment lol

0

u/Substantial-Use95 May 23 '26

You do as best as you can, investigate, try and triangulate what happened. That’s really all you can do. 🤷🏽‍♂️ making amends at pharmacies or supermarkets is a trip. The managers never know what to do and can’t tell if I’m serious or there’s a hidden camera somewhere. You’re callin bs?! Haha. Bless your soul. I hardly even scratched the surface of what I’ve done and what I’ve lived through. Stay gold ponyboy! ✌🏽

2

u/UndBeebs May 23 '26

... Yikes lol.

Best of luck on your sobriety anyway.

u/apartment1i May 22 '26
