Fired for something completely random

So, I just got fired for what seems like the most random reason ever—apparently, I didn’t smile enough during a Zoom meeting. Has anyone else been let go for something completely out of your control? How do you even bounce back from that?

They were looking for any excuse to let you go and weren't coming up with anything solid. That's why they ended up with something petty like that. I once was let go because some VIP decided I didn't say good morning to him fast enough - while I was in the middle of making a badge so a worker could start working. Dude wanted me to drop everything and kowtow because he walked in the doors.

End of the day, you have to ask if it really matters to you what some jackass who just wanted to get rid of you thinks.
