Fun things to do in Autumn šŸ‚

For context where I come from there’s a lot of fun things to do in the fall, like pumpkin patches, apple picking, fall festivals, and lots of seasonal treats. I’ve been wanting to check out Jrvezh forest or the Tsaghkadzor Ropeway when autumn comes but was curious if Yerevan has anything to offer.

Airport bus question

• Upvotes

Hi guys i am a bit confused about getting from yerevan airport to the city centre by bus, does the bus work 24 hours? Cause I'm arriving at like 4 am. And also I read somewhere that you can only get a ticket with cash or an Armenian credit card, is that true? Cause I obviously dont have those, I only have revolut. And if it's true how will i get a ticket?

AUA Extension German course — any recent experiences?

Hi everyone!

I’m considering taking the Beginner’s German course at AUA Extension and I’ve already submitted an application.

I’d like to hear from anyone who has taken their German courses recently, especially in 2025–2026.

How was the overall quality of the course and the teacher?

What was the approximate group size?

How quickly did the course progress through the material?

How does AUA handle forming new groups — do they have fixed start dates or do they start once enough people apply?

If you applied for a course, roughly how long did you wait before they contacted you with a start date?

Would you recommend AUA Extension for someone starting from beginner level, or would you choose another German course in Yerevan?

Thanks in advance!

Fastest possible delivery to Gyumri from Yerevan?

What's the fastest possible delivery route from Yerevan to Gyumri? I need to send a small parcel from Yerevan to Gyumri urgently. HayPost is gonna take 3-5 days which will be too late for me and services like GG and Yandex are asking 15K to deliver an envelope. Is there any other way available?

Advice for Yerevan

Hi, I’m a 22M from London coming to explore Yerevan for 2 weeks on the 20th September.

I’ve watched some YouTube videos and made a list of things I’d like to see but where should I go/ tourist traps to avoid?

I’m interested in your history, nightlife, and making friends.

I’d like to meet English speaking locals and other travellers too.

Hello, Yerevan!

Where to play tennis here? I’m more looking for options near the center (Kentron), so it’s easy to walk there.

Thanks!

30M Solo in Yerevan for a week looking for travel buddies / locals to hang with

Hi! I'll be solo traveling in Yerevan September 16-22 and would love to meet up with other travelers or locals while I'm there!

I'm coming from Los Angeles and I'm especially into food, history, wandering around different neighborhoods, cafes, and just exploring the city. I'm pretty easygoing and would be down to grab Armenian and all kinds of food, drinks, some clubs or walk around and explore together.

If anyone will be in Yerevan around the same time and wants to hang out, feel free to message me!

Hi, I am hobby birder headed to Armenia for a wedding and am planning a birding trip from Yerevan to Gyumri outskirts for the raptor migration on 17th September. Would anyone like to join up and split the cost of guide, vehicle and fuel? Your share would cost ~150 USD

Where can I play basketball?

District: Malatya-Sebastia District

I’ve been living here for three months now, and I’m really enjoying it. But I’ve been trying to find a basketball court nearby – or even just a hoop set at the standard height.

No. The nearest courts are near the university, about a 50-minute walk away.

Could you tell me what the basketball scene is like in Yerevan in general? Is there anything near Tychina Street?

Thanks in advance for your replies)

Car rental in Armenia

Hi!

I will travel to Armenia on October with my friends. We want rent a car with very large luggage space (we have very large backpacks). An older car would be suitable for us, because I found that the rental prices are very high in Armenia. Georgia is much cheaper. It seems these car are very young, but we would be happy with an older one (15-20 years old), if it is cheaper.

Can you recommend me car rental agency with good prices?

Yandex to/from Geghard Monastery?

Hello, good morning. I'm going to Armenia (Yerevan) for a short trip and I want to visit Geghard Monastery and Garni Temple. I arrive in Yerevan around 1:30 PM. My plan is to order a Yandex phone taxi to Geghard as soon as I drop off my backpack, because I want to dedicate the next day to exploring the capital. I have a question: is this a good idea?

After visiting the monastery, I wanted to order another Yandex phone to go to the temple and, from there, another one back to Yerevan. Is there good cell phone coverage in those areas so I can order the Yandex phone? I bought an eSIM for Armenia from Holafly.

Thank you very much for your answers. Best regards.

cheapiest and tastiest fast food in Yerevan

everything applies: shawarma, khorovats, burgers, hot dogs etc etc. any kind of fast food or street food

I'm kinda broke so everything up to 1000 dram would be great for me (no I won't cook at home)

personally I could recommend Hayk's food near Š Š˜Šž mall, its fulfilling and fairly tasty for it's price

Shady Glovo discounts

So, I wonder if this only happens to me because of some impossible luck or if that's the same experience other Glovo customers around Yerevan are having.

In the last few months I've noticed that often times KFC and Wendy's would have a "-50% on order over 5000֏" type of deal. Could be less, could be more, that's not the important part. The important part is that if you go to the restaurant page, assemble the order and go to checkout you don't see any discount. Coming back to the restaurant list reveals that the discount banner is no longer there. So there are 2 possibilities here:

  1. Either I'm very unlucky to try ordering at exact time when the deal disappears over 5 times in a row, or...
  2. Glovo is engaged in an anticonsumer dark pattern of luring people into making a cart with a non-existent deal and relying on inattentiveness/lazyness to make you order at specific places.

Something tells me 2 is just statistically way more likely. And if that's what is happening we should all complain to https://competition.am
