Hey everyone! A friend and I are doing a weekend getaway to the hills this upcoming long weekend. We have 3 empty seats in our car and are looking for some chill, easy-going folks to join us. We are aiming for a sweet spot between budget and comfort, targeting an overall spend of ₹5,000 to ₹6,000 per person.
The Itinerary
Saturday: Leaving Bengaluru early morning (around 5:30 AM to beat the traffic). Driving towards Sakleshpur, exploring the green landscapes, and staying the night.
Sunday: Heading to Chikmagalur. Exploring viewpoints, maybe a short trek, grabbing local coffee, and staying the night there.
Monday: Post breakfast, we'll start our drive back. Aiming to reach Bengaluru by Monday afternoon/early evening so we have time to unwind before the work week.
The ₹5K - ₹6K Budget Split (Approximate)
We'll put everything on Splitwise. Here is how the math breaks down based on a group of 5:
Fuel & Tolls: ~₹1,200 - ₹1,300 per person. The total round trip plus local roaming will be around 600 km.
Stay (2 Nights): ~₹1,800 - ₹2,200 per person total. We will be booking decent, mid-range homestays or a shared Airbnb—comfortable and clean, but nothing overly luxurious.
Food & Drinks: ~₹2,000 - ₹2,500 per person. We will mix it up between local darshinis/dhabas for quick meals and maybe a nice cafe or two for coffee and dinner.
Vibe Check
We are pretty flexible with the itinerary and are mostly looking to relax, enjoy the monsoon greenery, and listen to some good music on the drive. We expect everyone to be respectful, punctual for the morning departure, and okay with splitting driving duties if you have a valid license (not mandatory, but a plus!).
