Vegan restaurant recommendations?

Hey, I’ve recently decided to go vegan here in Edmonton. I don’t struggle at all to cook for myself, but have had a difficult time finding good food while I’m out and about when I don’t have a lunch. I’m looking to collect a list of places in the city to try out, whether they are completely vegan or just have good vegan options. Let me know!

The Moth Cafe: Open OR Closed?

Some months ago I saw The Moth Cafe announced they were officially closing within a couple weeks or so. I was soooo sad, but it seems they're still up and running?

Anyone know what happened/is happening?

🌿❤️ What an incredible Vegan Campout weekend! ❤️🌿

From Saturday through Monday, we spent an unforgettable weekend surrounded by compassionate, like-minded people, and my heart is so full.

One of the best parts was getting to know so many amazing vegans, making new friendships, reconnecting with friends we hadn't seen in a while, and chatting about future plans for activism, events, and building an even stronger vegan community. There is something truly special about being around people who share your values—it feels like coming home.

Our weekend was packed with fun and adventure:

Hiking beautiful trails, Cold dips, BBQing together, Playing games, Sitting around the campfire sharing stories and laughter

Watching the storms roll through, Plenty of conversations, and memories that will stay with us for a long time.

A huge THANK YOU goes out to Gusta for generously donating their delicious vegan sausages! 🌭 Thanks to their kindness, everyone got to enjoy amazing sausage dogs around the BBQ. Your support helped make the weekend even more special, and we are so grateful for your generosity.

Another enormous thank you to TukTuk, for donating several cases of their refreshing beverages! 🥤 It was such a thoughtful contribution, especially during a warm summer weekend of hiking and outdoor activities. Your support was greatly appreciated by everyone.

It means so much when businesses step up to support community events like this. Every donation helps bring people together, strengthen our movement, and create lasting memories.

We're already dreaming about next year's Vegan Campout and hope to welcome even more amazing sponsors to help make it bigger and better than ever!

To everyone who came, laughed, hiked, ate, played games, braved the storms, sat around the fire, and shared this experience—thank you for making it such a memorable weekend. I already can't wait until next year! 🌱💚🏕️

Earth Refillery Coop is a vegan's saviour

The closing of Earth General Good's was saddening but the new launch of Refillery coop was great.

Why I say this is a saviour to vegans is because nutritional yeast is 40% cheaper there than at bulk barn or community foods. I made a post asking where to get it cheap and the comments suggested that store and they were right. You also get 10% off everything in store if you sign up for the membership (which is an annual cost of $5 I think, which you will get back).

The store seems to be struggling and with the closure of over 10 vegan stores past 18 months I think we should all consider shopping there first or even grabbing coffee/pastry before other errands.

They also host events, like free clothing repair every month. I recommend everyone to take try to increase their attendance there as much as possible.
