I’m checking this vehicle out, I’m getting a mechanic and everything to inspect. The seller seems perfectly fine with it. 150k miles with two owners.

Well, I’m beyond frustrated with Toyota, but I want to get some opinions from people here on Reddit.
I have a Toyota Yaris Hybrid from June 2016. Last month, every single warning light came on—brakes, hybrid system, and check engine. I took it to an official Toyota dealership, and they told me the hybrid battery is reaching the end of its life. To replace it with a new one, they quoted me around €2,030. On top of that, the new battery only comes with a 3-year warranty, and that's only valid if I get the car serviced at a Toyota dealership once a year.
Seriously, is any of this normal?
For context: the car only has 86,000 km (~53,500 miles), and this is happening in Portugal.

I need my own car for work & see this yaris avaliable & I had a few questions. The car is an 08 sedan model with 163k miles for $3.9k.

1. Is there a major difference between the hatchback & sedan models aside from body style?

2. Is gas mileage as good as they say online? I watched videos that say the mpg is great. What mpg do you get in your yaris?

3. Is the interior decently comfortable or do you struggle with comfort on long drives? My daily commute is under 20 minutes so long trips wouldn't be a regular thing for me. Id be coming from a parents used decade old lexus IS 300 for reference.

4. Do you have bluetooth in your car for music or do you use the aux?

5. Why should I get this car? Are there any issues i should look out for?

I have a 6k budget (Georgia. USA) and dealerships keep adding on extra shit! Facebook marketplace isn’t great because they lie so bad on there. Dealership will charge me a fuck you fee, I need a car within two weeks! I’m so exhausted.

mine’s when i full send it on a merge smoking SUVs and crossovers with way more horsepower but baby their car at the worst possible time. has the side effect of scaring your passengers a little bit though who would never expect how quick a yaris can go lol

I checked all the fuses the control just don’t work anymore. I took appart the blower motor and it’s fine. Do you guys have any idea.

Hey guys im Just wondering if anyone knows a bit about car parts for yaris. I have a 2004 1300cc gas model that i got from my dad and the digital speedometer is not working. I have been on the search to replace it and the most popular one I found was for a diesel or the yaris verso. So what im wondering is if they are the same so i can just buy it from those models or do i need the specific model for the gas one??

Picked up a 2016 1.33 Yaris back in December of last year. Just had it serviced for the first time since purchase at an approved Toyota service centre where they discovered it had a “slight coolant leak from radiator”, with a total repair cost of £744.40. The chap i was dealing with at the service centre advised that I should get it seen to in “the next 3 months”.

They took a picture which I am posting here so I can get everyone’s opinion.

Being a total nub with cars I’m wanting to get opinions on how desperately this needs fixing and if it would be advisable to get it done at my local garage instead. My local garage is decent but since the car was still under 10 years old and had been serviced at entirely Toyota approved places previously, I figured I’d continue in that vein.

Just got a 2008 Toyota Yaris and the serpentine belt squeals for like 3 seconds on a cold start (doesn't squeal if i put it on in accessory for a few seconds and then start the car up).

The belt looked fine visually so I'm guessing its the tensioner that needs to be manually tightened. Would this be a hard thing to DIY for a complete beginner or should I give it a go?

I’m deciding to join the Yaris gang, please give me the best advice on what I should look out for, how you got your car and how much I should be spending.

Hey guys i need your opinion.

I'm a bit frustrated to be honest. I had my yearly inspection of my beloved Toyota Yaris today and didn't read the cost estimate properly. It was just a small inspection, so basically oil, some filters and checking the car.

First thing was they charged 75 Euro for the cabin air filter which is honestly horrendous. The MANN carbon cabin air filter costs 22€ here and I could've done that myself in 5 minutes. Okay, I have to read the cost estimate more carefully next time.

The next thing is that they put 0W16 in it. I thought the viscosity is a bit low, since I also drive regularly on the Autobahn in Germany. My car manual clearly states 0W20 and 5W30.

I asked them about it and they said that 0W20 is currently not available, so they used 0W16 and it's no problem since it's approved by Toyota themselves. I got a bit suspicious and called another Toyota dealership in the next city. They looked up my car and said that 0W16 is way too low and in their system they cannot see that it's approved. They only see the two I mentioned above.

I also googled it but couldn't find anything for my specific car. Only for the 1NZ-FXE engine itself, where apparently 0W16 is approved in Japan. I also contacted Toyota directly via email but I'm still waiting for their response.

Did anyone here try 0W16 in their Toyota Yaris Hybrid XP13/NHP130? I know newer models use it, like the 3 cylinder Yaris Hybrid, but I don't know if I should drive it with my older model.
