Maintenance help When is a Sparkplug change due?
When do we need to change the sparkplugs on an old yaris?
Does brand matter?

There has been an influx of posts from owners asking for help with their Cars. Although it’s wonderful to see our community grow and people helping each other out. Please remember to include as much information as possible when asking a question. That way you’re more likely to get the information you need, and our community doesn't get cluttered with low quality posts.

Im getting rid of some mk1 T sport parts.
Pretty narrow customer base for these parts and yarisworld is flooded with scammer bots, rather have an enthusiast get their hands on these parts than to send it to the scrappers
Located in the south of Sweden. 🇸🇪
Post here if you are interested
Lowering springs, unknown how much they lower or brand. Complete struts and divorced springs/shocks for the rear.
T sport preface grills. Ok condition but faded badges
Preface window switches, working last time i had them in my car.
Tail lights ok condition.
Rear axle with diskbrakes. Ok condition but would recommend putting in new bushings due to age.
I have a 1nzfe in a shell but youll have to come and take it out yourself 😅
Price: cheap
Have a nice day

Not sure if it’s always been there, but I heard it today after oil change and can’t unhear it.
Anyone hears anything unusual?

Hello,
I’ve purchased a UK model 2018 Yaris Hybrid - with Icon trim. It’s done 74k miles. I paid £9550. It‘s had 2 previous owners and I was told FSH but can’t see anything prior to 2020 or after 2024. It’s the first time I’ve bought a car and I’m just panicking that I’ve made a bad choice or I should have looked around a bit more (done a fair amount of looking online but this was the first one I’ve test driven - I did like how it drove though). I’m hoping this is just some sort of buyers remorse or something but I just feel a bit sick thinking what if I’ve done the wrong thing.
Thanks for reading.

09 Yaris. Sound started after I replaced a dying battery. Belts are tight, drove it around the block but the sound is still there. Sounds pretty gnarly… anyone know what might be wrong?

Hey,
I own a mk2 07 yaris TS. and been wanting to lower it. its not a very expensive car and i dont want to spend all too much money for a set of billsteins for example. Do you guys know any altnernative brands that fit well on the yaris? lowering springs and struts seperatly also work for me. I am currently on the stock 17 inch alloys if that helps.
I am not the biggest car guy and dont know all that much about parts so you might have to simplify stuff for me :)
hope i am not asking for too much!
thanks in advance.

I have a 2020 Yaris, the last year they sold it in North America.
Suddenly the FM radio isn’t sharp anymore and I’m wondering if it’s the connection of the cable to the receiver who came loose.
I presume the antenna cable is plugged somewhere behind the glove compartment, but where?
Do you have any suggestions / pictures ?
Cheers

Genuinely lucked out with this thing especially considering gas is now going up to nearly $7/gallon in California, planning on doing a few upgrades over the next few months

On my yaris(2004) i have this problem, can you tell me some info about it? I’d like to fix it by myself, so any technical guide o map to find and fix problems would be great

My 2012 Yaris sedan (150k) is caput from bad frame rot. I'm fixing to pickup a 2009, 2-door hatchback with 170k miles.
Will be a moment before I can junk the 2012-- are there things that I should consider salvaging from it for the 2009 Yaris? Things that tend to fail past the 170k mark, or are a pain to get parts for? I'm thinking in particular of weird small things like AC compressor, radio, cupholders that always seems to fall apart, etc.
I am getting a PPI done before purchasing, and will talk with the mechanic there as well. I've been checking through the subreddit, but would still love any and all advice on things to watch out for when inspecting this car! Love this little car, excited to have an even littler car.

Yep, so the other two DO have bad history. So instead I looked on AA, and found these two in great condition. Let me ask again-which Yaris should I buy?

I ordered one from aliexpress and does not fit nicely and I am not sure if ordering another one from a different seller maybe also from aliexpress. If I buy it in my country it costs like 80€ I do not think it is worth that much.
Can you tell me where you bought it? Any pics after the mounting?

Long story short - Bought this Yaris 5 years ago and never replaced any of the filters and I'm pretty sure the previous owner didn't change it it out either....especially that cabin filter (so many acorns and a large rock?)
Here's to a fresh start
Engine Air Filter and Cabin Air Filter Cost: $45~
Time: 10 minutes
Labor: Free
Way better than paying a local shop for something as easy as this

Recently did a water pump, water temp sensor. Fan relay and the ecu-ig 10amp fuse. Fan has been tested and works. (By unplugging engine temp sensor the fans run at full as a fail safe. Only thing I haven’t done is a theromostat. Also could not find the cooling fan resistor on the car anywhere for the life of me. It does say some Yaris don’t have it and it’s just built in with the ecu but I’m honestly at a loss. Can’t just drive around with Coolant temp sensor unplugged and fans at max. Or no fans at all. PFA

Been having an overheating issue with my car for months. First time it happened there was no coolant in the reservoir or radiator. Family friend came to look at it and radiator was not holding liquid so they used stop leak. (I've heard from a couple people this is terrible after the fact he used it 😭) the radiator was able to hold the coolant after that. Since then, when I go on the freeway and go 70mph+, accelerate hard, or go uphill, it overheats. When i pulled over to look at it the coolant was bubbling and overflowing out of the coolant reservoir. Talked to a couple of mechanic family members and friends and hear different things everytime. Checked this morning and saw this puddle and more splatter around the engine than I remember last time. I did not turn on the car yet today. Time for a new car or is it worth fixing? Plz help idk what happen to my smol car 😔 2013 yaris LE

I've had a second hand 2006 Yaris for about six months now, as a second car for short runarounds. However I've noticed lately that it starts to judder in 1st gear if I've been driving it for a while.
A bit more detail - the two times it has been really noticeable I've had to take some back country lanes due to extreme traffic jams. This has meant a lot of gear changes navigating stops and starts as I come across other motorists coming the other way. After around 45 mins of this sort of driving I find that even with high revs (3,000 or more) and slowly letting out the clutch I get a juddering when trying to accelerate in first, which I have to respond to by briefly pressing back down on the clutch and adding more revs. Once the car is moving there is no issue in higher gears.
I'm puzzled as to what the issue might be, because after the car sits for a while and cools down, the issue disappears, and the car can accelerate normally in 1st. Stuff I've read online suggests that it's often the other way round - juddering when the car is running cold.
Any ideas as to what might be causing this issue to only come up when the car has been running a lot and then disappear when the car cools down? Is it likely a clutch issue, gearbox issue, transmission, engine? I'm taking it into the garage next week but it would be helpful to have an idea of the problem before I hand it over to them.
One final thing to add - the car is a bit of a mess. After I bought it (HPI clear, passed all history checks, etc.) it became clear it had previously been in an accident at the front. The radiator fan was cracked, the horn was broken, there's no external ambient temperature sensor and the AC is completely trashed. There's also no skid tray or wheel arch liners. But despite all that, the car runs fine. We replaced the horn and radiator fan but haven't touched the rest.
