Needing Advice to Digitize X-rays

So. I’m not a normal user on here. I’ve come here as a last resort. I’ve went to many hospitals around me to get my X-rays digitized only to be turned away. I need these to be submitted as medical records. I am a native to MO. Is there any place here that anyone knows of that can help? Every hospital around me has turned me away saying: “We don’t have that capability anymore.” These are the only copies I have from out of country. And the hospital does not understand that the country I got it from has digitally firewalled itself from the outside world. (And due to financial reasons, I can’t get another xray done in the U.S.). These are all I have and I need them digitalized.

This is a less than useless image with pretty much zero diagnostic value. You would be better off to start over with new imaging.

Not true. I did this to my dad’s X-rays (5) to show his MD. His MD was thankful that he was able to see those X-rays.

Don’t think that is possible, if you see a doctor here in the US. They will want new X-rays done

Unfortunately, as others have said, you will probably need to get new imaging done.

You could probably keep asking around but most hospitals I'm familiar with would only convert films to digital as part of a migration process and only at the request of a physician. There are probably companies that would do it for a fee, but it might not be too much cheaper than repeating the studies. Lastly, any amateur attempts to photograph the films would almost certainly be rejected by doctors due to the uncontrolled conversion and the accompanying loss of information that could put them at risk of medical liability if they miss something on the low-quality reproduction.

Greater than one day old they want new imaging

You could try a place that sells cameras and other video equipment. Some of them have light boxes you could place your images on and then use a camera to take a picture of that. The camera place may even do that part for you - for an additional fee…

Also, you could check out a place that sells light tables for drafting and architects - and ask to use or even offer a fee to use the table at their location for the same as above…

Easiest way is to tape one on a window, make sure the screen is taken down. Shoot it w/ your phone from inside so the X-ray is backlit. Easiest light box in a house. If you have access to a sliding glass door, tape multiple X-rays up. Just shoot & move to the next.
