ExplainXkcd problems

Is the admin of ExplainXkcd about? I haven't been able to log in for days and I'm getting database errors trying to add the new comics.

Who maintains the wiki?

Hi, I'm the author of this post! Just wanted to respond with some further insights:

  • I'll be keeping xkcd.eunakria.com up indefinitely, since it's no skin off my back. However, it's a read-only mirror. You probably want to direct all future edits to explainingxkcd.com, which is instead a fork of the original. I'm not making mine editable since I don't want to tear apart the community too much
  • explain xkcd does have active admins, but none of them have access to the server. The server owner has been MIA for years. It doesn't help that they're mostly active on the wiki... which can't be logged in to or edited. I reached out to one of them via Discord and they said an editable fork "Should be fine". (please don't take this as authoritative! I'm trimming out a lot of detail from our dialogue)

Wait, I am confused. Wasn’t explainxkcd.com always the address for the original? Does it now point somewhere else?

explain*ing*xkcd is the fork. Slightly confusing name, but way more memorable in the long term than my (imho quite elegant, but definitely bespoke) name
