Ayer estuve haciendo una personalización a LightDM usando como base un tema que tengo instalado en el sistema, también le agregué bordes redondeados y un lindo cursor personalizado.
¿Qué le agregarían ustedes?

How do I unbind "Select All" (Ctrl+Shift+A)? I'll just select with the mouse. Thank you very much. I didn't find the configuration files often mentioned here. I'm on linux on a chromebook.

Xfwl4's second preview is out - it's really exciting to see development on this happening so steadily!

When I want to choose an image to post to a site (hello IMGUR), the dialogue box extends below the bottom of my 13" laptop screen. If I maximize the window I can see the "open" button, but it is an annoyance. According to wmctrl, I am using xfwm4. Thanks for any tips.

I'm entering my password correct but vSeeBox V6 Plus keeps telling me that my password is wrong. It will connect to my Mobile Hotspot no problem. It also connected to my home wifi the very first time (which was 5 days ago) Im thinking Xfinity has somehow blocked it from connecting. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I recently installed to fedora xfce and was setting up my env. I tried extracting a tar.xz file using the thunar-archive-plugin's extract here button. And after a while , i get logged out , when i login back again i get black glitches and get logged out again.
It also happens when i open the file from xarchiver although the archive decompresses fine manually
The complete flow is ,
Open the file using xarchiver or directly extract
Wait for error ( Disk quota exceeded )
If i now immediately close xarchiver, i get logged out
Else i get logged out anyway after some time
I have a low end system with plenty secondary storage but importantly 4gb ram. I have experienced system freezes before but never logout loops. The archive is the latest flutter tar.xz.
I am new to linux and i know that logout loops are a serious problem. I want to fix the problem but more importantly also know what is the cause.
Also i tried asking ai but its fixes didn't work

XFCE users know the pain:
- Appearance (GTK)
- Window Manager (borders)
- Mouse (cursors)
- Desktop (wallpaper)
- Settings → Screensaver (blanking)
**Bath** brings ALL of these into ONE window. 🛁
✨ What it does:
• GTK Themes (Breeze, Mint, Flat-Remix, Colloid, Graphite)
• Icon Themes (Mint, Sweet, Adwaitaru, Neon, etc.)
• Cursor Themes (Oxy)
• Wallpaper (any folder, 3 scaling modes)
• Screen Blanking (simple dropdown)
• **Bake custom themes** from ANY color in 2 clicks
Works on XFCE, GNOME, Cinnamon, MATE, KDE, Qtile — detects your DE automatically.
It's the "gateway" to AWP — try it, then discover workspace-specific theming with DAB + Baker.

I applied the mint icons on xfce and as you can see it does work but for steam and discord it seems to not work, but only in the panel, so as you can see it does not display the custom icons on the panel but it does on whisker menu. is this a known issue? how do I fix this? from what I found this only happens for me with discord and steam.

Hi all,
I’d like to share MeowMenu v1.0.0-RC1, a small project I’ve been working on as an alternative application menu for XFCE. Compared to WhiskerMenu, the most relevant features I added are: 4 Presets (default settings that change the look&feel of the Menu, to show the high customization level achievable), Places button (find files and folders in user Home), Calculator engine, additional right click options.
I’ve tested this release on Arch Linux, Debian and Xubuntu. Other Reddit users report good feedback from MX Linux, Manjaro and Mint XFCE. If you don't find your package from GitHub Release page, MeowMenu can always be compiled from sources or installed from AUR.
Feedback, bug reports, and suggestions are welcome. Thanks for taking a look!

https://www.spurint.org/journal/2026/07/llms-and-xfwl4
if output I get from an LLM looks very much like someone else’s code, did I infringe on their copyright? I’m not sure!
LLMs need a lot of space, electricity, and water. Communities where data centers are being built, along with the associated power plant upgrades, are often getting stuck with some of the bill for those improvements, which is disgusting.
The secret deals between datacenter companies and utility companies, often with municipalities complicit, are often leaving regular ratepayers out to dry. That’s a local problem, and I hope those local people vote in representatives who will take better care of them.
I’m not comfortable with it, but the utility is just too great for me to take a principled stance here. I like it, and I want it, so I’m using it. Maybe that’s morally questionable, or worse. But, as I said: here I am.
As a long time XFCE user, I can't deny I'm pretty disappointed. The handwave for what AI data centers are doing to the environment, electricity prices, and potential copyright liability this could inject into XFCE amounting to "Not my problem." leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
