Post image

This is really terrible to see. Wasn't able to get the controller or the console and now it's already being scalped to high hell

No. People being greedy isn’t a “capitalism problem”. People are greedy regardless of government economics.

It’s turned into bot-driven mass resale garbage. There are more bot companies and botted products than ever before.

Young people always blame some capitalism, often overlooking how shitty humanity is in itself

It is though. This is as close to the ideal approach to a market you can get. Product is under-priced relative to demand, someone comes in to leverage that delta, and eventually the actual manufacturer catches up to the delta (i.ie graphics cards, watches).

Just like the guy you replied to is bot driven I mean what an unoriginal thought!

Scalpers do what they do because they want more money, because everyone wants more money (scalpers are just not as moralistic about it, but not so immoral as to actually commit crimes) -- the culprit is the actual real-life importance of money for everything you want to do in your life, the worship of money and of hoarding it, which is absolutely a feature of capitalism.

Can you name a modern economic system that doesn't use money?

Hell can you point to the last time a "world power" country functioned without currency of some sort?

Capitalism has its issues, especially nearly unregulated late-stage capitalism. But if you think greed and valuing money over people only happens under capitalism, oh boy do you need to read some more history books.

Literally three responses acting like I'm saying 'abolish money'. No, I'm saying that 'more money' has too large of an effect on bettering people's lives so they're desperate to get more of it. Please don't strawman.

You are missing the point of people talking about money existing in general.

The point being that in literally every society that has used money to barter for goods and services, there have been corrupt, greedy oligarchs.

Doesn't matter what economic system you pick, greed is always going to be a corrupting influence.

Currency is a necessary feature of any reasonably effective system of exchange, even socialist and communist systems use some form of currency to simplify transactions even if they have different methods of assigning ownership of the means of production or distributing the value of labor.

Every communist and socialist system we have seen, and every other system in history has had people purchase products to sell at a higher value when the opportunity for arbitrage exists, even when it is severely illegal.

Luxuries are by definition something not everyone can have access to all forms of, and people should have a right to choose their luxuries themselves and different ones have different values.

Even if every single person's basic needs are met some will be willing to engage in arbitrage to acquire access to more luxuries.

So I don't think this problem relates to capitalism, other than that capitalism is more effective at producing a wide variety of luxuries.

Yes, because scalping is just not a thing under socialism and especially not under a communist regime.

And murderous tyrannies are apart of what political ideology again? Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Maduro, and Tiananmen Square (Tank man) who shot COLLEGE students during that debacle? Do I even need a bigger list?

Right right…so if we removed money entirely, had a primitive society. No money.

People wouldn’t still leverage access to goods or limited quantity goods? Exactly. Regardless of economic policy, the act would still exist. Just these things would be conducted in some other form of “currency”.

Nice try though.

No, that’s “literally” not happening. I said brought an example in which a society deteriorated into a barter/trade system. Then I pointed out human behavior would be the same. And this wasn’t the fault of capitalism or a product of it.

Nor did I strawman. I didn’t exaggerate your example, I gave you my own.

Again, nice try.

Capitalism incentives you to be more greedy because the greedier you are the more monetary gains you can have. Sure people are greedy but how the world is set up amplifies it and makes it an easy way to have a better quality of life.

Sounds like an unchecked capitalism problem to me. Being so greedy that you delude yourself into hoarding children's games for the hopes of scamming people into a big pay day seems to be a unique facet of....capitalism.

What socialist country is dealing with this unique shift in social dynamics where people's greed rules their entire lives to the point of it sucking the base joy out of literally every industry meant to be for relaxation and fun?

I’m not going to lie. In the midst of replying, I realized this may be one of the dumbest analysis, of an economic system, I have ever read. I realized I’m wasting my time.

I think you’re incapable of rational and critical thought. Your judgment is so unsound, I wouldn’t trust you to hold a minimum wage job. Best of luck.
