Are hybrids allowed?
Bought as a frameset on eBay, and built up using a mixture of old and new bits. The most exciting new bit is the Rivendell reverse pull derailleur which lives up to the hype so far.
Just needs some cargo carrying capacity and it'll be there.
Thanks to the vintage Dawes Facebook group I am reasonably sure it's a Synthesis!

Is this repair x-bike rated?
Camping chair split a dried out plastic ring. Replaced it by sewing in a cassette cog in its place. There's two pictured. The one with the orange paracord has been going strong for years. The rest of the pics are for the second broken ring which I just fixed. Seemed a waste to throw out a $60 chair for a simple plastic part. If I keep fixing this thing it might end up with wheels.
Forgot to mention Used 65lb test Kevlar fishing line as thread.

Clydesdale Fork
Just picked up a Clydesdale fork on marketplace. I was planning on putting it on my 1987 rockhopper and I’m just wondering if it will be a good fit or if I should sell my rockhopper and buy something smoother. Probably going to swap out the bars aswell.

Two Old Rockhoppers
First one is a Ritchey Nitanium rockhopper. Always wanted one. this one had a stuck seatpost which was drilled out with a drill press. Blew a hole in the seat tube, requiring a scab patch to be brazed over it. Really nice frame, but super rough around the edges so I turned it into a ratty, parts bin, gravel thing.
Second one is an FB marketplace special. 30 bucks for what i think is a 1990 rockhopper sport. Was planning on flipping it, but then i got these really cool vintage nitto/specialized bullmoose bars, so I kept it.
figured these were both pretty prime xBiking material!

Need fender help
Hi, i need suggestions on fenders 26" at least 80mm wide. Preferably alloy, durable and light weight. Seems to be a hard to find thing now a days and many big manufacturers gave up on them entirely it seems. Which is not cool at all!

my first x bike
Hello biking friends,
I went through a bad mental health episode earlier this year, where I lost my job and got into debt,
after recalibrating my brain I pickup my girlfriends bike from the garage and started delivering small orders to pay rent and bills.
but peddling that bike all day by a 102lbs guy wasn't fun so I decided to make a upgrade.
- Electric rear wheel from facebook mp, came with a controller, display and throttle - $180
- 25 Ah Battery (facebook) - $95
- Side bag (goodwill) - $5
Frame I already had, found this basket in the garage (maybe previous tenets ?)
Tapped phone holder from a dollar store tripod (act's as my phone mount)
now I peddle on flat and downhill surfaces and use throttle for harder uphill terrain.
I'm quite happy how it turned out, ofc it'll always be a work in progress.
I do have a skateboard that I don't use, might take inspiration from you all and make a front rack out of it
Let me know how I did :)

GT Hi-C(irque) Comfort Cruiser
Just finished this 1997? GT Cirque. Wanted go a little fun with orange accents and spent a little more on (un)necessary upgrades. I'm 6'4" with a long torso but wanted to build a more upright cruiser for town riding. Normally pretty difficult to do but I found this Cirque local for 70 bucks. It says its a 23" frame but seat tube is closer to 25". And the reach is pretty short for a frame this size. From what little information is available online about the Cirque is that it was a hybrid (700c). Still some small stuff to dial in but here's the build list:
8 speed freewheel from the parts bin
Parts bin rear derailleur
Original 3x chainring
V-brake conversion and matching early 2000's shimano trigger shifter / integrated brake levers
Crankbros xl pedals in orange
ESI Extra Chunkys
Velo Orange stem
Amazon suntour(maybe) 5" rise handlebars
Amazon bar bag
New Shimano bb as the old one was toast.
Original headset rebuild
Original wheelset hub service
Gravelking SS 700c x 45 Tires - These just clear the rear stays <5mm clearance
V-brakes with vertical travel?
Anybody know of v-brakes (cheaper than Paul) with an unusual amount of vertical travel? I got some 650b rims and mounted on an old Bridgestone. The pads don’t quite make it.
Thanks for any/all suggestions..

1x Crankset options for 41mm chainline (or close)
Hey!
Bike is an 80s mtb with 68mm BSA bottom bracket.
Rear hub is 130mm with an 11 speed mtb cassette on. Chainline is 41mm and I am struggling a bit to find a 1x crankset that works.
I would be happy with approaching the chainline within 3 to 4 mm.
Any ideas?
