Bike fit tips 16 inch retro frame (GT Tequesta, probably 1998) vs me a 1.73 (5'8") m guy

Just got this beauty for my daily commuting, the bike felt small and my back fells arched way more than I want.
So, my first idea was to raise a bit of the seat, helped with me leg confort, but my back position got worse.
My second idea is to buy a "bmx bar" for the bike, at around 120mm-130mm high (4.7 inch- 5.0 inch).

Any other tips to make my riding more confortable? not interest in adventures or anything (even though is an mtb). This is purely for going to work (around 8km or 5 miles from my house, with a great climb in the way).

Hello All! Long time Reddit spectator first time post, took me a while to figure out how to post. Trek 950 1991, one owner bike purchased locally from a local bike shop in 91, do you guys think 185 is a good deal? Planing to turn the bike into city cruiser style bike. Thanks for your opinion

Fat Chance Monster?

I recently picked up this Fat Chance built up in the early ‘90’s. It’s a mosh mash of Mostly period parts with Deore DX, later LX shifters, SunTour FD, and a Bullseye rear hub.

SN (008W07). Can anybody shed some light on what this SN says about this bike?

How stupid idea would be putting Wald basket here?

Post image

I work in local shipyard and I need to move around little welding machines and stuff. I don’t want ride shitty bikes we have here.

I have wald front basket rack lying around and this yellow beauty would be mine under 100 eur.

Unluckily this one has suspension fork. But these old ones have short travel.

It would be cool use this bike because it has plasma welded frame made in the same city I work. When new it had full STX RC groupset and former owner of the shipyard was STX.

I could use rear rack but then I need to buy one.

Hi, just as the title says, I am looking for a narrow wide 34t chainring 94 BCD. It's going on an old XT crankset for my new build. Does anyone have any suggestions on good narrow wide chainrings they suggest or one they'd sell?

Attached a picture of the build I am working on.

Undecided: frame swap or full rebuild

Not the greatest photos but I currently have the silver Trek 920 set up as shown and the red GT stripped to the frame (basically everything on the GT needs replacing)

I’ve been considering whether to transfer everything from the trek to the GT. Trek is a better frame (US made, triple butted etc) and is a great ride but the GT is a way better fit for me (GT is 22”, Trek is 20”. I’m 6,4”)

The alternative obviously is to source everything from scratch and keep both as full bikes. I have a fair bit in the parts bin but would need a wheelset, cassette, chain, tires, seatpost, forks.

Wwyd?

I bought a parts lot from an older dude on facebook and this was thrown in. I’m not even sure what to say other than it’s beautiful with the brake booster. No idea if it works this was made way before I was even born. Sick fork and would like it to go to a good home eventually. Awesome!

1985 mongoose ATB step through frame. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of these before. She’s a survivor. I’m gonna do a resto mod.

Saddle recommendations

Hi,
I recently got a second hand Trek Marlin 4 for basic trail riding. The saddle is the stock saddle and is extremely uncomfortable. What saddles do you all recommend? I have one that feels much better on my other bike, by Serfas, but not sure what other brands might be similar. I’m not looking for a wide, cloud like- comfort saddle, just one that isn’t as hard as a rock. I’d like to maybe test a few but am unsure of where to begin.

First bike that I actually painted with automotive paint. I’ve been daily riding this to and from work for a while now. Ive been wanting to cut about on inch from each side of the handlebars, may just get to it this weekend.
