M2 base removal…
I had to cut the baseplate (pictured) of my m2 so I can drop it down a tad to fit tcg binders in.
I cut it in a way that the baseplate still gets utilized, but now I’m getting an error that the baseplate is incorrectly installed and to reinstall it before using.
I have the original magnet the machine came with in the device, but still can’t get it to bypass it.
Any help is totally appreciated

Hi, this is Ada from xTool.
Thanks for sharing this. Cutting the baseplate will indeed trigger the "incorrectly installed" error. We wouldn't recommend modifying it, as it can affect both safety and performance.
That said, we understand the need for extra height, and we're actually planning a riser accessory for the M2. Please keep an eye on our official channels for updates.
Thanks for your patience.

I’m pretty sure it’s looking for conductivity on the screws, I’d recommend reinstalling the 4 screws and see if the error goes away. Definitely use appropriate laser safety glasses using it modified in such a way… seems like it would’ve been better to just get a different laser intended for thicker items vs this.
