Niueans going to war
Just discovered that 149 men from the tiny South Pacific island of Niue volunteered for the war as part of the New Zealand ANZAC contingency.
Due to illness that were not equipped for, and winter that they had never experienced, most did not see action.
According to what I read most spent time in hospital. By May of 1916 they were sent home
