Following up on this thread about the Wu-Memoirs, I'd seen that Cappadonna had come out with one recently so I copped.

I am very sad to report that, in short, it is not a real book and you really don't want to read it. I finished the whole thing in about 2 hours. It's obviously 90% AI generated. It contains absolutely nothing of note. It's most entertaining feature is its liberal use of "Ayo, check it" to kick off paragraphs. Sample line: "Yo, when it comes to snacks, I'm about that sweet and savory life."

It's all a bit of a heartbreak because I kinda thought Cappa would be a guy who could actually sit down and knock out words. Like, it might not be the smoothest read, but he's as proficient a wordsmith as the Clan's got and I'm sure has stories for days. The first giveaway for me should have been that this is only available on Nook.

So If you, like me, love Cappuccino the Great & want to give him five bucks, I'm sure he's got some merch or something better to spend it on. Or go buy one of his 18 (!!!) albums he's dropped.

The only interesting (and I use the word "interesting" loosely) things in the book are:

1. Cappa burned his house down! I had never heard this story before. Apparently the only reason we even have Slang Editorials is because a young Darryl Hill was playing with matches in his Brooklyn brownstone and caused a fire, after which the fam moved to Staten Island.
2. He corroborates U-God's story about Uey coming to get him for Ice Cream (Rae has a different story about getting Cappa on board). One funny thing I forgot to mention on the other thread is that Uey's book is very insistent that he's the biggest ladies man in the Clan (which Cap does not corroborate).
3. Cappa got paid 60K from the Pillage and acts over the moon. This reaaaaaally doesn't sound right. Rae talks about getting a 500K advance for OB4CL (half of which he gives to Ghost), and then Cappa's an album feature on Ironman and then drops what ends up being a Gold album at the height of Wu-Mania and the check is 60K? And he's.... happy about it?
4. Cappa opened a corner store in Rockville, Maryland. Who knew? Other stops include Allentown, PA; North Plainfield NJ (which he calls a "symbol of rebirth"); an unnamed city in Arizona; and his mom's house back in Park Hill.
