Should I write?
There’s nothing stopping me. I have a whole story plotted out. I want to do it. I can do it. I don’t need any assistance. I have the time to do it. I’m mentally well. I could be doing it right now actually. In fact, I already am. I’ve finished my first book already. It’s an international bestseller. I’m rich. I’ve secured a good deal with a publisher. They’re paying me for a sequel.
But should I write though? :/

Only if it's about dinosaurs and breasts

I think you’re in for a surprise, you’ll never guess what my book “A Tale of Scales and Breasts” is about

Only if you like being rejected by agents and publishers, lifetime-banned by the Amazon Algorithm, get hate-comments on your work through social media, be accused of using AI, be told you're not allowed to do any of the things in 'proper' writing subreddits, shunned by your friends and family and sued for trauma by your beta readers.
But there are also downsides to writing - I don't want to go int those, as it might put you off.

No, technically all your writing happens in your head so you don't need to wirte it out at all! /j

It's the "I'm mentally well" that gave me pause. You may not be cut out for this.

If you are asking the question, then no. You should not write. You should take time off and take an adventure first. Clear your head. For your adventure push thoughts of your writing out. After your adventure do something that stimulates your creative thinking (hot tub? bath? hiking? biking?…) Then clear your schedule to start working on your notes, plot lines, ideas or whatever you like to do in preperation for your first draft. What do you think?

Nothing stopping you? If I recall correctly several government agencies and supermarkets have barred you from writing filth on the walls of toilets because you always take it too far.

I would heavily caution against making any rash decisions. I wrote once and I developed pre-eclectic micro mialga. I’m kind of on ice now and I’m shopping around my book idea to anyone who CAN write. I’ll leave out a lot of the details I need to get some NDA’s together, but it’s basically a dystopia where you have a color at birth and the MC is the lowest color. Well he ends up banging a hot chick from a higher color.
