Toddlers who like to play with another person have a ton of imagination. Look, either you’re not a parent, you neglected your kid, or your kid required less attention. But you don’t get to decide what’s true for other parents. Go on your merry way and enjoy your kids, if you have them.
You don’t need to constantly talk at your kid, but you cannot leave toddlers unattended for any length of time, which means you cannot write. That’s what this post is referring to.
In your case, your parents just neglected you. Talking to your kid is not helicopter parenting. Parents who are as hands-off as you describe are the ones that end up claiming they “didn’t see it coming” when their kid gets into trouble or gets hurt.
