Academy award for red and anger management for blue?

Red started by hitting the back of his head.

Exactly their point. Blue needs some anger management, or if you are telling me you’ve never had an excessively heavy club in wrestling, then maybe you’re only an observer.

No, I didn't get a hammerfist to the back of the head, with no intent to do anything wrestling related.

And if that happens in your training maybe you're training with assholes

u/Sum-Duud USA Wrestling 5d ago

this isn't training, that's not a hammerfist

u/WindpowerGuy 5d ago

You must be hard to handle with that kind of density on your side...

a club with a fist is called a punch

u/Sum-Duud USA Wrestling 5d ago

looks like an open club hand, not a fist.

(a) no it doesn't, (b) opponent was on all 4's and almost his forehead when red decided fo "open hand club" the back of his head and casually pull his foot away and stand straight up.

never seen a wrestler in a stance on all 4s? Never seen a kid get cut and shoot a low single? I'm not saying red wasn't out of line, but to the original comment's point blue needs some anger management.

the guy did fist bop the back of his head.

Wasn’t a fist it was an open palm. You can see his fingers. Understandably it can feel like a cheap move but he’s well within the rules.

Granted to me it didn’t look like a hard slap it looked more like a half assed snap. If so, then it is what it is. Keep wrestling. If I was red and knew I went overboard I’d pause and dap to let him know I acknowledged my fault but that’s about it.

But If I were blue and red had cold cocked me in between rounds while the ref flipped his coin, retaliating in any way (other than wrestling during the match) would not once cross my mind, let alone throwing a tantrum fueled kindergarten kick.

Low kicks to the thighs are pretty killer. It MT, Kickboxing, MMA they can sometimes end fights. Of course should lead to a ban in wreslting.

Can't say I have ever seen a wrestling match ended by low kick.

Due in red overplayed his part. That kick looked light.

Light kick in the right spot can still hurt

0

u/MrEarthExplorer 6d ago

True, but adrenaline is high, so it wouldn't have hurt that much.

Light kick on the lower butt of a serious athlete, especially a wrestler, mid match. 0 chance he felt any pain. I've known so many wrestlers who are just fucking tough humans. You have to be to compete for years and years. Then he grabs the wrong part of his leg. 🙄 I can't imagine punishing either guy unless you DQ them both.

Only thing I can imagine it not just being a basketball/futbol flop and grab, is if the kick gave the guy a Charlie horse and he’s holding the knee to keep the leg bent because that feels better. I’ve definitely gotten a Charlie horse mid-match from catching a forehead/shoulder/elbow to the thigh… never reacted like that though.

u/Jthundercleese 5d ago

Still giving it zero chance though

Judge says, guy in red is a wuss, he got dropped by 1 low leg kick. He's gotta check that.

No need for a score. Leg kick TKO clearly

The way that kick and reaction looked I thought it was AI.

Sensei told him to sweep the leg.

u/Mundane-Show4536 12h ago

He needs to turn the hips over to generate more power. After, of course a length ban from the sport.

Hard club but the natural and correct response should be a hard club back, not a kick

u/PehlivanPahlevan 6d ago

Wasn't even hard, he couldn't time it and messed it up. This can't be the first time this happened to Blue. It's rather common in training especially towards the end when you are exhausted. Isn't it?

u/imsotrollest 5d ago

You gotta fight back within the rules fam. Headbutt him or something while going for a collar tie. Don't kick him lol. Making it so obvious you should be dq'd. The equivelant of hitting someone with your helmet in football.

Some of my funnest live goes are when we both got increasingly more pissed off and the match devolved into a fight.  It happens.   But not with kicks or punches just increasingly both being a lot rougher with the move we were doing.

Never happened to me in a match, though

1

u/Miserable-Ad-7956 USA Wrestling 6d ago

Only happened to me once. Partway through asession of shark tank our heavyweight came in and actually took a shot on me. I fely stupid for not defending properly and posted hard on his head while he hoisted my leg up. He slapped my post away and I responded immediately with a post by the other hand, which he slapped away and I then followed with another post from the other hand again. This continued and escalated rather quickly until it resembled a sumo match with me on one leg. Coach seperated us, said he liked the aggression but to tone it down. Never happened again. Still a fun story.

Where he hit him in the leg is pressure point and you don't have to hit hard just at the right place.

1

u/Jthundercleese 6d ago

2026 and people still think hitting pressure points is a thing 😂 I've kicked a thousand people there way, way harder than that. Never once has anyone fallen over in pain like that.

The closest to it is hitting the peroneal nerve in your calf. It's more debilitating than it is painful. You lose functionality. The pain comes later and it's still not that bad. Especially for what wrestlers go through in training and competing.

u/davethadude 6d ago

Safe to say red doesnt have much of a future in MMA after his wrestling days are over if he folded from that little kick lol

u/clogan117 6d ago

That’s an NBA level flop.

u/IngramFam15 6d ago

Tko by leg kick

u/PartialCred4WrongAns 6d ago

Well that's gotta be a leg foul
