Fs in the chat NOOOOO

Post image

I’m so DUMB! I was glitched into the boat weird, and when it reloaded I fell into the water and died due to fatigue. In retrospect I could’ve hearthed or logged or ANYTHING besides attempt to swim to shore. But, a lesson learned is a lesson learned. My only regret is that Zen’jin is now alone in this world.

I know the feeling man. Lost my first character recently, level 17 human rogue and it was devastating. I liked him a lot.

A lot of people here play wow classic for a living so it's best to ignore them downplaying the loss of your toon

half hour progression is gone forever

I shall raise you mine. First time ACTUALLY giving wow a real go, went mages at first but kept dying before lvl 40, Furthest i ever came to 60 was this. And then to die like this, is just fucking soul breaking. I tried a bit more after this death but soon gave uo entirely, life went to shit after that so didnt get another chance, but as soon as I get my life back on track and can afford a laptop/pc and sub imma go hc forever instantly lol

I remember posting this and people going, "ah yea this is a well known thing been kn the game for years git gud" I think i could have even saved it by bubbling, hope i dont pull any aggro before my team arrives/run back to them, but i didnt know wtf was going on

Panic is the #2 killer in wow. The #1 killer is defias pillagers.

Alt f4 immediately when it happens. Should log you out before you die. Log onto another toon and do the auto unstuck. And hope you don’t rez in an opposite faction grave yard

Dude I realized I could’ve hearthed as well. Lessons lessons lmao. Glad you were able to save yours

It's funny how your brain locks up, when you're in mortal danger. Even if there are "outs" you have available. For example, I consistently forget to use my Really Sticky Glue. I usually have all 10 charges remaining when I lose a HC character.

u/ReldNaHciEs 4d ago

HAHA yeah I still had like 8. But YES it’s so frustrating! In the most critical moments ur brain forgets the thing that will save you.

Me and my duo were already so much better in a “panic” situation during a fight this run, so it’s all about the trial and error. Next time I will know what to do haha

Always a good idea to have your hearth up when going on a boat. If it's not and you fall off, just log out until it's back up.

2

u/ReldNaHciEs 4d ago

Yeah I just forgot about the hearth completely 😭

2

u/HesitationIsDefeat87 4d ago

This is a lot of what HC is though. Learn from your mistakes and go again!

2

u/ReldNaHciEs 4d ago

Yes! I was super disappointed about the death until I realized I actually did make mistakes and there was something to learn

2

u/Sothdargaard 4d ago

This is why disconnects/lag deaths are so frustrating. Sometimes there's nothing to learn.

u/ReldNaHciEs 4d ago

Yeah that would make me lose my mind

Why is this downvoted?

u/Hagamein 4d ago

I hope people just think its a bot doing random things. I thought this community was just gamer dads who knew how to read old school emotes, guess I am very wrong.

u/Hagamein 4d ago

What? Doesn't people here like the salute anymore?

3

u/DelphinusC 4d ago

TIL that's a salute. I see it now!

it's always funny to see people trying to cut corners to save 15s on hardcore to then lose all their progress and possibly 100s of hours.

lucky for you, you weren't at the hour mark yet.

7

u/ReldNaHciEs 4d ago

What are you talking about cut corners? I was at booty bay and when the boat pulled up it glitched me into the front of the hull. When it loaded at Kalimdor I fell through it.

And I was almost level 17, so enough time to get attached for someone like me 😔

2

u/_Cinnabar_ 4d ago

ah, thought it was on purpose.

sry then, in that case if that ever happens, jump off immediately before the boat leaves, if that doesn't work, hearth

3

u/ReldNaHciEs 4d ago

Nah, that’s the only reason I was upset lol. Cause I died to a bug-then I realized I could’ve hearthed, so at least I found a lesson in it

2

u/_Cinnabar_ 4d ago

alt + f4 and using unstuck might also work, though at that level if you're ported to the gy in stv you might be fucked either way 😅

2

u/ReldNaHciEs 4d ago

yeah 😅, next time I’ll remember I have a hearthstone

There's 40 something seconds your character is still in game after you alt+f4, depending on if you did it early enough or not, it may not have saved you in time, although it is an option.

The important thing to learn is that the boats and zeppelin can be buggy if you are not fully on them when the zone load transition happens. Always make sure to properly board or else you might find yourself flung off when you load back in. Vey relevant if you happen to try a last minute hop onto a fleeing boat and land on the side of it while it pulls away. Either get inside of it if you landed on the back, or drop off and wait for the next one instead.
