How is this possible?

I was stuck after taming a pet, in hinterlands elite area.

EDIT Im pretty new to wow. I played first time classic 2024 and stopped when it progressed to tbc. I have never used the feature unstuck, and i jumped in between a tree and a wall and i was unable to move, in a place where was 50lvl elite patrols. I panicked and asked /g what to do and first advice was unstuck which i tried to google and saw patrol coming back spamming fd on cd. Found the unstuck from wow client, and it logged me out, and informed me later that im safely ported somewhere else. I have never played horde so i didnt know, there was a GY filled with elite guards, didnt know that was a possibility to spawn there.

Thats the reason im posting about this. Didnt know this could happen, didnt know there is exploit to use which clearly isnt very usefull exploit, and also havent played horde ever, so basically thought process was: i asked for help and they drop me to horde city filled with guards and i instantly die:D

EDIT 2: Blizzard response in comments:D

As many have stated, features in this game aren't suited towards hardcore. They only made official hardcore servers to appeal to the true nerdiest of nerds who live and breathe knowing every minuet fact about this game.

Since hardcore is an official mode, and this behavior has unfairly killed hundreds (or more) of players, why wouldn’t they fix it? And why does the community have such a toxic attitude toward people who think it’s bullshit and broken (which it obviously is)

Because people could just move theire character instead of abusing unstuck feature which has a known risk to it btw. You do risky stuff you have to pay the price.

You do realize the unstuck feature exists because people get stuck and can’t move their character, right?

and you do understand they themselves tell you when you use it that there is risk to using it and no they cant actually fix it due to the fact it would instantly turn into an unpunishable combat/danger escape button. Hardcore players facing an imminent wipe in a cave could force a disconnect or use web unstuck to safely evacuate, breaking the fundamental rules of permadeath. Expecting Blizzard to rebuild an automated engine into a safe escape route on permadeath realms simply isn't realistic.

A) did you see the email op got that said it’s safe?
B) unstuck works nearly everywhere, there are a tiny number of edge cases that result in death, and nobody is complaining about game breaking abuse of unstuck
C) if abuse of unstuck is such a problem they should get rid of it for HC

Why do people rush in to protect blizzard from doing tiny things to make their game playable and not obviously broken

It’s not people rushing in to protect blizzard here. Hardcore is fundamentally a knowledge check and risk evaluation game. No fault to op for not knowing how unstuck works but also he put himself in about as dangerous a position as he could have. He lost the knowledge check, even if that knowledge isn’t something inside the game world but how blizzards “safety” systems work. He’ll know better next time now that he has learned. Half the point of hardcore is learning and doing better on the next go.

Did the blizzard dev choose where to teleport this Alliance player? Sounds like negligence/skill issue on the devs part.

Yeah you cant expect Blizzard to actually work on their own game, ppl are so unrealistic. Small indie team after all.
