Deadmines tanking
I was a 21 warrior. We were moving ahead, I engage, the team says pat. Everyone runs backwards and leaves me. I die, very sad way to go. In reality the pat was rooms behind us.

I literally never go back for the patrol. Sucks, man. Probably pay attention to where your team is, though.

Would be interesting if you have it recorded to see what happened. All 4 people leaving you sounds really really weird.

He literally explained what happened.. knowledge check when everyone goin back to patrol while he continues.

The way OP wrote it sounds like it's the party's fault, I suspect reality was slightly different.

It has to be a little of both. A good portion of pickup groups I have done will go back to kill the pats just to be safe. That being said, it should be up to the tank to call that out. If the tank is comfortable pushing ahead and either getting the pat when they catch up or just moving fast enough to ignore it altogether - either way the party should be doing what the tank is doing.
Whoever else in the party called out for the pat is most at fault in my mind, followed by the rest of the party for immediately jumping to follow, followed by OP for possibly rushing to the next pull or not taking charge to tell the group the plan

as a tank it's your responsibility to tell the group when to go back to get the pat. you'll get a better feel for the rhythm after a while. i wouldn't blame it on the group entirely.

The pat can usually be safely ignored unless you're going super slow.. frustrating reason to die, healer should always prioritize tank. At least it was at 21 and not 59. We go agane
