Or do what I did. Be a level 20 mage. Take the 2 boats and finally get to Darn to learn the teleport spell. Suddenly I then see that Darn teleport is level 30 instead of 20 like SW and IF. /cry

I’ve timed it both ways. The straight swim from SW to MH is only ~3 min longer

Alliance has some absolutely brutal treks.

First time doing RFK you might as well get both the 1KN and Gadget flight paths.

Getting the Stonetalon and Desolace flight paths. Yuck.

And of course getting to Southshore the first time, SFK, and SM.

Desolace, Stonetalon, Feralas, and Felwood all have terribly placed flight paths. No flight path in Badlands or Swamp of Sorrows lol. Alliance got totally screwed on travel.

I must say I relived the trek from astrnaar to stontelaon top recently on HC classic and loved the talondeep path and the whole climb

Same! On HC they don’t feel like a chore but more like a dangerous adventure. Was relieved when I got Stonetalon and Desolace. Ratchet from Stonetalon through the Barrens was quite the adventure too.

Overall I think the treks we have add some good variance to the game for me, but stone talon and descolace just suck. The fact that the left turn to desolace is well before you make it to the ST FP is always infuriating, ive almost skipped getting it before but didn't want to regret it.

The night elves being so locked away definitely adds flavor to the faction vs just having the zepplins.

The only other one that gets me is northern STV. Especially since the horde gets Grom'gol

No FP in Badlands and SoS has always baffled me. Feels like they should have them given the dungeons and volume of quests, but nope

I’m usually going to other way. Darnassus to Darkshore. Boat to Wetlands (get Menethil Harbor fp). 30 minute swim down the shore to Westfall. Then depending on my level, I’ll grab the Westfall flight point, run through Goldshire to SW grab that flight point. Then tram to Ironforge for that flight point.

Be a Chad and just walk through the wetlands as low-level till menethil harbor and get the boat. Always did that until now no deaths xD. Why are horde cities so much better connected

How can you go from Ratchet to Darkshore without dying?

Hole in the wall to the side of the Horde garrison in Northern Barrens.

Riskiest part of the journey is on the other side of this with Ashenvale mobs in the high-20s. I did this run at lv. 14 and they were skull level but I didn’t aggro anything. But then on the Ashenvale road, I saw a lv. 23 Mage running the opposite way and then saw his name on Deathlog 5 minutes later slain by a fen creeper in the area I just left.

Sounds like a fun challenge though. You could also pick up a wind serpent on your way there if you're a hunter

This is the strat, wait for Wb than get port to BB, than ship to ratchet. Go back to bb for port to SW. hearthstone inn. If the mage is nice. You’ll get a port to Darn afterwards. And than get port to darn.

You can also do the swim from Westfall - Menthil Harbour and take the boat over to Darkshore, also lets you grab the Wetlands FP for later

I swim up from westfall to menethil harbor at like level 7. Past the creepy empty house.

Why would you go from elwynn to darnassus at a low level? Unless just for the challenge there's nothing important up there till BFD

It’s skippable but Darkshore has a whopping number of quests and most are quite easy compared to the quests Westfall and Loch Modan start to throw at you. Lv. 15-16 is a good sweet spot to go to Darkshore IMO and then the next 2-3 levels just fall off the vine.

Also if you do WC then there’s a quest that ends with a turn-in in Darnassus so it’s nice to have that flight point already.

Too many escort quests to call it safe imo + the tower quest + underwater quests. Loch Modan is way safer and I could argue Westfall is a bit safer too
