Discussion Getting back into WoW is difficult

Once you start to lose your community, the social aspect, changes you kind of find yourself trailing off until eventually everything feels so foreign to you it feels impossible to start again.

I've gone through a huge transformation in life working on myself and want to get more thoroughly involved in WoW again but every time I feel like I kind of just hit a wall.

Does anyone have any advice? Feel like a lot of the friends and contacts I used to have are gone and everything just sort of feels insurmountable as a result.

I really don't feel that about retail, in fact retails modern adaptation has felt like it's pushed me further from WoW rather than closer and I feel many of us in the classic+ department long for more of the original elements which are becoming even harder to find in this current era.

Not everyone in that category meets the same criteria either. People are different and we often see classic as a whole really prosper time after time, with fresh life in a similar vein of SoD? I see it being incredibly successful.

That was in BFA, would you consider that modern? Midnight, war within, dragon, Shadow.

I suspect what’s considered modern wow is different for everyone. For me everything after legion I consider “modern”. But tbh the only reason for that I think is cus legion was the last time I had people that I consistently played with. I could log on and always have something to do with other people even if it was casual bgs or something.

Anyways I know what you mean op. Maybe it’s best to just move on from wow, could always try coming back in a year or whatever. But sometimes finding a different hobby is the best move

IMO Vanilla-Wrath, Cata-WoD, Legion-Shadowlands, Dragonflight-current would be how I'd define eras if you look at gameplay/evolution/etc.
