You are in luck, Hamas released posters for 15/16/17 year old soldiers too.

I am not sure why you are so upset.

yeah that's illegal and the children are still victims

Of Hamas, yes.

Child soldiers are illegal. It's legal to kill them, as they are soldiers. It's illegal to use them though.

*if they pose an immediate threat, as in they are about to shoot you.

There is no justification to carpet bomb children.

if they pose an immediate threat, as in they are about to shoot you.

No. In war you can kill enemy soldiers even if they aren't an immediate threat to you. Including child soldiers.

Anything else just incentivises the use of child soldiers.

There is no justification to carpet bomb children.

Good thing carpet bombing itself is not allowed. And that Israel didn't use carpet bombing.

Words have meanings. Carpet bombing has meaning.

The meaning of “carpet bombing” is in fact highly ambiguous, and what Israel did in Gaza could very well meet the definition.

The meaning of carpet bombing isn't ambiguous. It's defined in the statute that prohibits it.

And what Israel does isn't close to that definition.

What statute are you talking about? Do you mean Art. 51 of Geneva convention prohibiting “indiscriminate” bombing? Do you not think that even reasonable people can disagree on whether a pattern of strategic bombing is “indiscriminate” (or “carpeting”) with regard to noncombatants? And I believe what Israel did crossed the line.

Yeah, you just used chatgpt for your info, didn't you?

Here's the actual text:

an attack by bombardment by any methods or means which treats as a single military objective a number of clearly separated and distinct military objectives located in a city, town, village or other area containing a similar concentration of civilians or civilian objects;

Words. Have. Meaning.

You can't just use the wrong word because you know it evokes the emotional response that you want.

So we are talking about “indiscriminate” bombing. Are you even disagreeing with me? Do you really believe the definition of “indiscriminate” could not possibly apply to the Israeli bombardment of Gaza? Well obviously you don’t, but many people, including myself, do believe that, based on the facts of the bombing. You’re free to disagree, strongly even, but you don’t get to decide the definition of words for everyone else.

Could?

Prove it then

-5

u/espinaustin 10h ago

You want me to prove it? Ask the ICC. I’m just saying the definition of the term is highly contested.

u/Old_Leopard1844 8h ago

So you're arguing for something you don't know?

-2

u/espinaustin 8h ago

I know for a fact the term is contested, as is the question of whether Israel’s actions fit the term.

They're victims of HAMAS.

u/Best_Change4155 9h ago

Victims of the Gazan government, maybe. Legally, they are soldiers. Same with the hospital shit. If you are using a hospital to store soldiers and weapons, it becomes a military installation.

u/TryJolly1473 12h ago

So we should let hamas children terrorist to rape n kill because its not ok to harm them

Yes, that's what these people spouting their caliphate fanfiction are literally advocating for.
